Default mini revo setup

whats up guys i have just been bashing with my mini revo, kind of to blow off after work. but we have a big indoor race coming up and we are going to run a revo class. the track was designed so that one piece of pipe could be changed to shorten the track length for the mini's and the standard slash. my question is what is the hot setuop for racing i already see the springs are waaay too soft and needs thicker oil. ihave a center diff, are you running them stock (50k i believe) or changing oil. how thick shock oil and color springs, also are there any other necesary parts needed. gonna try for some j-concepts goosebumps and new wheels. by the way race is the SIC in Cullman alabama on the first thurs, fri, and sat of october. its indoor so the weather wont be a factor, so come on down and race.

thanks for the help with setup-cant wait to race this beast.

Traxxas black springs in back with 1000 weight diff fluid and stock shock pistons or glue one hole on the piston and try 60weight shock oil. Be sure to put some shrink tube over the bottom of the shock cap or they will blow off.
Traxxas tan springs in front with 80 weight shock oil should be close.
Center diff....Dunno know but I would think AT LEAST 100k weight and maybe even higher to prevent wheelies. Your front tires are still gonna balloon on 100k.
Goosebumps and Team Academy Rear wheels should get you pretty close as well. Kyosho rears will work as well but you'd have to do something about the threads on the axle being too short. The Academy's fit better.
Get yourself a KO Propo 3101 digi servo (you can Thank me later, LOL).
Axles level in front and just above level in the rear (but tune to your track).

Well, running the Revo in grass and on pavement was no problem, excellent all around performance. I took it to a local track, however, and it has an uncanny ability to get tiny little bits of grit caught in the spur and/or pinion gear when you flip, which causes some very herky-jerky action until you clean it up. Obviously the upper cover alone isn't cutting it, as there is still some space for dirt to get in from underneath. It's pretty obvious that as the drivetrain still spins while you're cartwheeling through a dust cloud, stuff can get in right at the rear output from the transmission.

Has anyone thought anything up to enclose the lower portion of the gearbox yet? I'm debating just servo taping a bit of lexan in there, but I would hate for it to let go and get stuck in the spur or pinion...

You will need to use the speed pinion (23t) that came with the kit! I havent used those batteries but they should work fine, I think I saw them on ebay.

I did find them on e-bay and they were really cheep but they don't fit really well they are a little thick. I can get them in the battery box but with the battery so tight will that damage anything in the battery when it gets hot?

I think you should be ok because my 35c packs are tight, and they get pretty warm.
