Yes Thomas that motor should work perfectly! Good price too....
I have found these to be excellent but are expensive.

1105 or 1107 series is what you would want.

What do you guys think of E-flite lipos? I know they are made for the flying type but the dimmensions are right (all are slightly long but only by mm or two) and so are the specs. I like the price too, they are cheaper then Maxamp but more then Zippy which I'm not sure I trust.. Not to mention there is a long waiting list for them. Also my LHS stocks them so I figure they can't be bad or they wouldn't keep them around. E-flite lipos

On a side not I'm actually selling all of my racing stuff to get one of these. Racing around here died so all of my vehicles are just sitting on my shelf collecting dust. I feel like bad person when I take them on and drive them around my house so why not get something I can actually have fun around bashing around. I had been out of the hobby for a while and I looked back into things and saw this and I've always wanted an E-Maxx but the price was to high and well it wasn't brushless and it was too big. When I saw this I just got uber excited. My LHS is getting one in as soon as they come out and they said I could take it for a spin before I buy one. Hopefully it will be sometime next week!!

I just talked to Traxxas again and I was reassured that these would be shipping this week. I think there was the word "probably" in there somewhere but I chose to ignore it. LOL

I was looking at those batteries also. I'm fortunate that my local hobby shop carries a bunch of different packs for the heli and airplane guys. Lets me fit up a pack and buy it local.

I'm probably going to get one of these. Need to sell a few old cars, but still, I will own one by the Summer, no matter what

I got some bad news from my local hobby shop...he ordered four of the revos before they had a part number, a few weeks later a traxxas rep called him and told him he had to redo his order with the traxxas part number so he asked her would it put him on the second batch....she replied that she was going to try to put him in the system with the first order. So once he checked his system it said he should get them by 6-15-09. Hopefully this is not the release date at least for the rest of you guys maybe it will only affect my hobby shop!

Way, way too expensive, you could get 8 Zippes for that price, 3s too. And those motors you guys were discussing, I don't see how you could go any better than the stock gear. 380 can, brushless, waterproof, lipo cut off...... What more could you want?

Way to expensive? What batteries are you talking about? No batteries listed in this thread have cost 8 times a Zippy pack, even at $15 a pack. I gotta agree on the whole motor thing, I see no need in switching.

Jnfweld, I wouldn't suggest those packs seeing as they only have a 10C discharge rate.

The stock motor and ESC are great no need to change.

Those packs have been ran in a truck several times with no trouble at all. Remember 2 packs = 4000mah.

The issue would not be run time but the C rating which is a little different. It's how fast the battery can be discharged. With such a low C rating and such a powerful motor you could possibly damage the lipo due to stress.

I know what C is that is 40 amps.

Never met a stock motor yet that couldn't be improved upon. I should have clarified that I have a brand new Neu motor and Quark Roadster 65a ESC left over from a Mini Inferno project (sold it due to drivetrain related issues) that will be a perfect fit for this new Traxxas. Might as well use them rather than have them collect more dust in my tool box.
