I love my Mongoose ESC, been great for me so far and it's been beat hard (knocks on wood), so that's what I'll run first. If it thermals on me or isn't performing well, I'll try a GTB or RS.

I plan on gearing it down quite a bit and loosening the slipper a good deal to tame it a little for the track. I'll test a good NiMH pack first and then move on to Lipo.
I'd be wrenching right now, but I just got home from work, have 45 minutes or so to shower off and head out to work......yippy!

A RS with a 10.5 sounds like a great combo. I personally think the Mongoose will get too hot because of the size/weight of the truck.

Man these things look sweet. Electric is looking more and more tempting each day.

Anyone have a run time on the stock NiMH battery and a Lipo?

How should I wire it up for both and it work good and not burn anything up? Got a stock battery for sale in anyones interested.

Yea I have two 1800 packs that double to 3600. I have run it for 25-30 mins and it never got past 114 on the motor and 109 on the esc....and the lvc never kicked in. I figure I could get approx. 35 mins.
