Default Clicking in mini revo upon acceleration??

So i was wondering if there is a specific diff or place I should look for the culprit of the clicking noise. I will tear down and start the hunt tonight. I haven't yet broke into this thing. Pinion and spur are still perfect. any suggestions are welcomed for finding and how to prevent again when running high power lipos.

Check the screws in the back that screw your turnbuckles into your bulkhead. If you tighten it down too hard the screws go through the bulkhead and hit the ring gear.

Default E-Revo wheel question

I read a guide somewhere(probably this forum) these would fit:

Traxxas Front Light Wheel 2.2" Dyeable

I want to know if they fit without any modifications. I recently got a set of OFNA BBT whees only to find out the hex slot needed to be dremeled to keep it from rubbing on the steering knuckle.

It also had to be dremeled in the front of the tire because the lock nut was not biting the screw enough because the rims plastic was so thick.

I fixed it and it's fit fine now. I don't have every tool unfortunately so sometimes I'd rather not modify anything.

These wheels:
Traxxas Front Light Wheel 2.2" Dyeable

I plan on sticking buggy tires on these.

Do they fit without any type modifications or dremeling?

I really wish they made a list of wheels that fit without modifications.

Some say no, you can try it, just keep an eye on temps for a few runs.

Default ESC Questions

I have a 1/16 Slash with the brushed 380 and want to know what a good replacement ESC for it would be.

I need it to be lipo ready and preferably one that could also run a brushless 380 motor sometime in the future.

I have been looking at the Castle Mamba Micro Pro and their 1/10 ESCs, as well as some other companies' offerings.

It'd be great if it fits w/o any modifications, but if I have to modify the chassis a little I will.

Finally, what's a decent 380 brushless motor for future consideration? Are the Novak Mongoose Three-80 packages good for the Traxxas 1/16s?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out!

Mongoose is too small for this truck

Just bought a Tenbol motor mount. Will probably run the 7700kv motor with Mamba Max for sure. What is the stock spur? I have a 26t pinion sitting here, the only 48dp one I have which is 3.17mm bore. Would probably be overgeared but tbh with that much motor it shouldn't matter

You should be fine with a 26t if you stay 2s. I had the 5700 on 3s 28t and I was getting temps in the high 160s.

Liqr you've got to remember we have ambient temps of 5 Degrees Celcius here so temps aren't so much of an issue in the Winter.

Just read your topic on Traxxas forums. Nice truck

Thanks! Lol, yeah you're right. I was in London 3 years ago around this time and it was freezing. Will you be bashing with the 7700 or jus speed runs?

Bit of both; when I go to test my TC5 speed car I'll give it a go. Got 37mph bone stock last weekend.

Usually I'll just be bashing.
