Default Leaking Shocks

I have a RC18T that has leaking shocks. I know, big surprise. I have read that the nicer AE (blue ones) also leak. I have tried teflon tape around the cap threads. Turns out, they are leaking through the bottom of the shock. What shocks can I get that don't leak?

You can install the shocks upside town and greatly reduce the chance of leaking. You could also use some thicker oil. Stock Associated shock oil is 25 wt. I switched to 40wt. and have had no leaking at all. Some people need to go up to 70wt. to get rid of leaking. I'm sure there are other ways to eliminate leaking, but this is what worked for me. Good luck!

I am running 60 and 80 wt. Still leaks. Might try the upside down trick.
Those o-rings look like they would do the trick if I can get my hands on some.

Some of those weight oil may work for bashing, but racing an 18th with that weight oil seems pretty high. If it leaks, its not really that big of a deal where you have to go buy new and better stuff. Just simply change the o-rings every so often, as this should be part of regular maintainance anyway....

use AE green slime when assembling the shocks.
this preps the o rings and they will seal better.

^^^ +1!! When you use green slime to build shocks, they don't leak or have probs. Make sure orings get coated with some and they won't leak.
