Default 8.4 NiMH or 2S 7.4 Lipo

Car is a 18R with Mamba Micro Pro 6800 Motor and ESC.
I never used Lipo. I have a Lipo charger with balancer already.

PROs Vs. Cons . Why?

You can' t compare apples and oranges. A 7.4 Lipo is not going to have as much power as a 8.4 NIMH. However Lipo will last longer, less upkeep, and with a balancer doesn't go out of balance like a NIMH does the first time it is run. If this is for bashing get a 3s Lipo and you will absoutely kill the 8.4 NIMH. 3s is 11.1 volts and you get all the other benefits.

Including all the broken front end parts.

I say go lipo. Less maintenance as nutz said and to the best of my knowledge, lipo and limn cells are not prone to fellatio.

8.4v is cool but you have to consider the weight to power ratio....the 7.2 lipo more than like likely will perform like the 8.4 if not better and the runtimes are going to be better.

My response was aimed at the fellatio comment... I also completely agree with the above statement, NiMh does indeed suck "Dic-"

I still run NiMH cells in some of my vehicles as that's what the track/class rules dictate, but if I were a straight basher or mod guy......it'd be lipo all the way.

While its hard to argue the lighter weight of a Lipo, you can't beat voltage and a 8.4v will outrun a 7.2 anytime.

Only if the 8.4 is made of good cells

Don't use Venom cells for it...

They make great RX batteries... But don't like anything that requires much power

But as an RX battery, I could run my clod buster, 10 - 15 minutes at a time, every couple weeks without charging the RX battery for a couple months before it got too dead to drive the truck!
