Default iPearl's M18 build in Progress

After buying 2 used M18 and a Tailwhip, Scavanging them for Diffs, Gear boxes, A arms, Motor and Servo.
Selling one M18 and the Tailwhip to fund an Exotek Chassis.

Wanted the Metal Suspension Block but it was too costly.
Finally got my New Tekin ESC Housing =D
This is what i end up with, not too much bling except the Exotek parts.
Opinions and thoughs ???

PS: Still waiting for my Helios,... hope he didn't scam me ...

My thoughts-

1. Which servo are you running? Get a servo saver.

2. Why use the stock body hole mount in the rear? the R3 moved the mounts forward so you dont have to dig under the wing to get the body pins out.

3. Just pass in general on anything aluminum, unless you want the bling. Alu parts dont last any longer, and are heavier.

4. get the atomic lowering springs & threaded shocks. makes setting ride height easier, and gives you option springs to work with

JR SM22 already installed in pics, for now with a Xray Saver on it (Coming in next week)

I ma be using my stock bashing body for now untill i can find a body i like.
Not much to chose from and many i liek aresold out or out of stock.

Thats what i figured on alu parts, but also they where wicked exp.
All these metal parts came with the Exotek. And i had to get the motor mount bc i needed a Motor mount for 370.
Stock Pro mount was more exp for less metal than Exotek low CG one.

Is that the same threated shocks offered by Exotek or are you referrign to the metal ones ??

I will have a Adjustable Gear Dff and a Adjustable Ball Diff.
Both are adjustable where should i place which front back ?

The shocks on exotek's site are the atomic ones, those are the ones you want.

For the diffs, for mod(like you have), you should really have 2 ball diffs, but if you have to use a gear diff, run it in the back

Yeah i wanted a Brushless set up,...
But it was expensive. I couldn't find something that will fit Nicely.
And i dont want a Shrink wrapped ESC... just nitpicky...
After trading selling Buying, i got Motor, Servo and ESC for good price.

I am still waiting on my Transmitter and Tires and Hex Hubs ...
So i have not drove this set up yet except it in stock form with power pack , a few weeks ago.

looks like a fun project to me! I'd like to give an XRay a try some time... esp. after looking at that oople review on the m18t pro.

You can run brushless w/out having to have shrinkwrap esc, there is novak mongoose, mamba micro-pro, losi excelorin, tekin mini-rage, etc, etc. all have esc in a "case", although not really necessary. But you are right, expensive, but I think that chassis will deserve it!

I like Tekin xD they are awsome in helping you out with set up.
I think the rage is bigger than this one.
I am trying to figure out if the RS has the same footprint as the FX lol.

But still way over my budget !!!

I have the RS and it is just a tad smaller than the Mongoose esc.

Here is a pic I just snapped for reference.

The RS might Fit if the Brushless motor is short enough !!! =D
But again expensive !!! Doesn't the RS-Pro Cost $229 and RS $190-200 ???
Shivers....

I stick to my Ghettofied Brush set up LMAO.
Though i might step over to lipos soon i think.

Now i jsut got my Hex Adapters in and some Tires...
My dum ass forgot to order the Hex Locks LMAO *PalmFAce

But i noticed that the Wheelbase width increased...
Am i jsut imagining things or is it wider with Hex adapters aka Pro vs non-Pro ???

The stock trackwitdth with the pro rims is the same as the offset setting for the press on rims, if you never ran offset on the press on's then yes it is wider.

Ditch the skinny wire and micro battery connections. I run 16ga wire and standard (not micro) Deans' plugs. You'll be happy you did. Car looks good.

You could go with a Tekin R1, same size as the RS, except it uses sensorless motors. People let these go for $100 all the time in the for sale section

Looks great. PUT DEANS ON THAT THING Most guys use the RS (pro) with the micro's here and it will fit (looking at my M18t now). Its very small for a 1/10 ESC. Pair it up with the 10.5 'Goose motor and you have a winner.
