Hi Tom,
A stock scalpel chassis is too short for a M18 body. I bought a used scalpel. The chassis had been broken at some point and the previous owner had scabbed on a peice of plastic to lengthen the chassis about 3/4 of an inch and then fitted a M18 body. An extended chassis may work. Marvet Brown of Brown Engineering on the scalpel thread could tell you for sure.

Marvet makes aftemarket parts for the scalpel and his stuff has a very good reputation. I bought replacement t bars from him and they have held up very well.

Tom,
If you want to use a touring car body, you can use the HPI 140 type ones and they work just fine and fit well and you have alot of choices..if you want to use a 150 touring body like prolines mazda or stratus body you have to upgrade the chassis to a 6 cell 150 which is sold by Browns Engineering....
