If you are running 3 cell then I highly recommend the steel diff gears at thetoyz.com . The longest lasting gears you can find.

The 9.00 price is just temporary, those are for the prototype bodies, when we get full production going and include sticker they will go up to average cost for a 18r body

Thanks Gee for the help! I really appreciate it...does AE make a shim kit or do i have to out source a shim kit from another company?

Thanks MikeR...i want to try shimming the gears first before i opt for the $20 upgrade from TheToys...but if the shims fail i'll def. get a set of steelies from them.

Thanks again for all the help!

Gunmetal FTW! I need to figure out what to do with my 3racing shocks - the blue kind of stands out too much with the rest all murdered out in Gunmetal and carbon fiber. Might just have to polish off the blue and keep them chrome/polished looking.

You have to get the new Body BOR...it's leaps and bounds ahead of the AE ones! Here's mine that Frank's Bodies did:

BIG D- Shock limiter spacers in the front shocks or reduce droop if you are running the R18. We also have new 6 degree c hubs in stock

B REVO- Frank also runs the local race program here. Cool dude with lots of paint skills no doubt.

Default NICE WORK!!!!

That is very nicely done! What steering setup is that? Were you able to template from the original chassis for the steering post mounts, or measure? It looks like a significant improvement over the stock setup. I also like the way you improved the weight distribution with the saddle pack layout.

Thanks!

I used the plate from my 3racing chassis kit as a template for the mounting holes, and just laid out all the parts on paper to determine the outline of the chassis. I cut the chassis out with a Dremel tool.
The steering is from the Duratrax Vendetta. There were no holes for the steering posts on the other chassis. I just tried to make the ball screws (that the tie rods attach to) on the new steering match that of the stock set up- I got it close, measured, then drilled the two holes. . I also had to cut the bell-cranks down a bit.

Thumbs up

Wicked looking ride!! I got the draglink for my R today and the Benzo shell. Looks good but needs a huge wing to make it like a real DTM shell. I need to find a local painter too, I suck and I know it so I want it to look good. So far my only upgrades are a XRS esc and the drag link. Need a hot motor and some good batts now.

Got my shell and drag link from thetoyz.com FYI.

I hope you post a pic of the new shell once it's painted! I'm not much of a painter, either... I usually just paint one color with a rattle can.
