The look much better then stock. I was thinking of maybe getting some of the 3racing shocks, however I have them for the 18t and I'm not really impressed with them. I'm using losi mini-t shocks on my 18t and they work great, I'm almost thinking of getting two sets of front mini-t shocks and using them on the 18r. What is the best shock for the 18r right now? I'm in the middle of a Exotek R18 conversion and I want the best...

The recoil shocks are too small for the 18R. Not sure how you had a bad expereince with the 3 Racing shocks, but theyre pretty much the only ones to have for the RC18 series.

On a fairly tight indoor carpet track i am finding running 50 w all around with blue springs x4 to be very good for me (also running one spacer in each shock)

Unless you have a tire truer, you should run the rubber tires on the track.

hmm interesting. i was thinking my 45wt was too stiff. should i go with 30wt? i was thinking about swinging by my LHS and picking up a wide range from 20-60wt. then i can try out different combinations.

If you run on asphalt, I would say maybe 45 max. You need to take into consideration that the 18R is a lot lighter than a 1/10th scale car. We don't need to run the same oil weights as the 1/10ths.

I have to agree. I think the car comes with 25wt. I've been running 30wt on a high bite asphalt track that is 100'x50'. Layouts tend to be fast with 1 or 2 tight sections. 30wt just feels to heavy. I put some 25wt in for this weekend and I'll let you know how it feels. Does anyone have any set-ups for the exotec chassis on asphalt?

In order for my setup to work, you will need to drive the car hard! Let's try each other's cars this weekend.

BTW, are you going to have that brushless motor in there?

You're allways welcome to come out. Even if it's for 1 lap.

I am using 25wt front and rear with silver front and gold rear springs

Not sure if I'll have the brushless in for this race. I don't know if Tyler got it in and I just spent $180 on car # stickers.
