Default RC18R questions?

New RC18R owner

was hoping anyone could help out or have any links to these questions.

is there a way to adjust toe with the stock turnbuckles?
should the rims have air holes like the 1/10scale?
what kind of care does the battery need? do you discharge completely, then recharge?
does the stock motor need a lot of care? how would i clean it?

thanks in advanced.

Can't really make any camber or toe-in/out adjustments without adjustable links. The stock NiMH is a good entry level sport pack for bashing and those cells don't have/dvelope a memory so you don't have to discharge them all the way every time. The motor shouldn't really need any maintenance unless you're running outside in a lot off dirt and such.......motor cleaner, WD-40 and an air compressor. A heatsink would be good too. A better battery will give you much better performance. Lastly, no the rims do not have holes in them as the tires are very low profile and the sidewall won't really collapse so there is no rebound/bouncy issue with it.

I'm in the same boat with the 18R

My question is, what is the best lipo battery back for the 18R? One that won't need chassis modification...thanks.

HAH, you live in the bay area?

Do you plan on racing? We are racing the 18R at the following tracks here:

RC Unlimited (San Jose)
NORCAL Hobbies (Union City)
Marin RC (Marin)

There's a ton of lipos that'll fit. The Apogee 1500 Limns fit nicely. The Tunder/Flight Power 1320/1345 2S fit. Pretty much anything that's less tan 32mm wide and 105mm long. Here's a nice discontinued Apogee cheapo that'll fit the bill if you dig the bay......

I run a 3 cell lipo with no problem. You will need to make taller posts to mount battery. Also you will need adjustable tie rods to correct your toe and camber angles.

there IS a way to do it with the stock links, but not very accurate. You can use a heat gun/similar item to heat and bend the links, making the overall length a tad shorter. i wouldnt realy reccomend this unless you are running a box stock class and have to use all rtr equipment.
