Default help deciding on 1/18 truck

My son wants to get an rc since his brother just got one. He likes like the mini t lst and lst2. What are all the differences. Does the lst & lst2 have the same basic setup just not as fancy of controller and stuff on the lst? What about the xtm rage. I would like it to have good support and hop-ups. Any suggestions would be appreciated. He's got about $150 to spend.

His brother got a recoil, he doesn't want one of those. He likes the stadium truck style.

Well, I recommend XRAY in most decisions because of their excellent quality and great documentation. In this case, I think you should go with the XRAY M18T(#380500) and we sell it for $120. If you need it as a RTR kit, we sell the M18T RTR for $200, but that's not going to fit your budget.

If you want to know what kind of hop-ups are available for the M18T, you should just take a quick look at the M18T PRO. This is a ready made M18T kit that comes with lots of aluminum and carbon fiber. Of course, you can drop a brushless motor and LiPos in it as well.

Associated RC18T. RTR is about $170ish, watch Ebay you can find it for less. They are really durable, parts are plentiful as are hop-ups.

The lst 2 has a few minor upgrades from the lst, mainly the dsm radio (spektrum). If your son just wants to bash, the lst2 is a good choice. for racing applications, I would choose the RC18T. The 18T RTR will set you back about $145-165 and there are plenty of hop-ups available.

Both vehicles are good choices and both have plenty of hop-ups available. It just depends on what application you will be using it for.

Isn't racing just a controlled form of bashing?

the rc18t is a great rtr, and pretty fast stock too!

not to mention the HUGE list of hopups you can do to the thing!!

LST"s in careful hands seem to not be too bad.

Many times i see them broken and not racing though.

the rc18 series is great.

I love my vendetta but there is a few basics it needs. Then again i am sure the rc18 needs some things also.

My vote is RC18b/t and vendetta ST.... for the extra cash though XRAY for sure. Local guy is pretty hard on his and it keeps ticking
