Reading all of these ideas about next year's possible new motor makes me wish the MRL season was not over. I am looking forward for outdoor season but also looking forward to next year's MRL season.
Robbie, thanks again for the opportunity to run at different tracks. For some unknown reason, I do better at the larger tracks than I do at the haus. I also hope that some of your RC enthusiasm and talent rubs off on Brandon because he won't get it from me.

But I will always be his #1 sponsor.

I just found out about this thread and I also suggest a motor change. I know we have an xray 370 and a associate 280 motor which I think Gee ran in a race for mod so you know they have more grunt. I also want to say thanks to Robbie for the experience of going to different tracks.

Depending on next year's overall schedule (ECC if it happens, Onroad Nats) I think you will most likely have a few racers from Canada coming down for a race next year. Your schedule is open enough to find a good date...Spoke to Gee and Tim Haskins this weekend (during my baptism by fire at the offroad nats - oh man do I have to learn a few things re. offroad...). I believe I should be able to convince Max to come down.

I think what you guys are doing is great to promote the class. Great job.

Only problem I see is the fact that to come down is a 9hour drive. That would be a lot for 1 day race. As well, chances are pretty good that your last race will be very close to the offroad nats - it's hard to get time away from family responsibilities so close for two race events... However that's my problem...I'll figure out something.

hopefully you can find time to make it (if it helps the mushroom bowl in pa is probably going to be 1.5-2 hours closer to you guys)

MRL Racers -

There will be a schedule change posted in the near future. The Mushroom Bowl's date will change along with one other date, just not sure which one yet. I hope to have that info within the next day or so. Hopefully by the end of today.

Is there a link to the finalized rules for the 08 season?

I'm just getting back into RC after getting my son a Slash.

I was looking at the Trans Am series at 'The Track', but after years of speanding my entire Saturdays there, the wife didn't like the idea.

Your series would be perfect since it's once a month.

robbie is workin on that as we speak. there is some testing of stock motors that needs to commence to make it fun for all and less $$$ too. i'm 99% sure they've sorted their battery plan for stock in the coming year, placing themselves closer inline w/most micro racing (using 5 2/3A cells instead of the 6 2/3AA cells we used at the race haus on a 180 motor).

mod is essentially run what ya brung, just let them have time to line up somethin for stock.

I spoke with Mimi and we'll have a slight change in dates. The Opener on Sep. 20 will be at Mimi's rather than the Mushroom Bowl. The Mushroom Bowl will change dates with Mimi for the 24th of Jan.

New Schedule:

Sept. 20, 2008: Mimi's 'The Track', Gaithersburg, MD -- GRAND OPENER --

Oct. 18, 2008: The Coliseum, Frederick, MD

Nov. 22, 2008: The Race Haus, Glen Burnie, MD

Dec. 20, 2008: The Coliseum, Frederick, MD

Jan. 24, 2009: Mushroom Bowl, Kennett Square, PA

Feb. 28, 2009: The Race Haus, Glen Burnie, MD

Mar. 21, 2009: Mimi's 'The Track', Gaithersburg, MD -- GRAND FINALE - 2 Day Race, Double Points. (TQ= 2 pts., Win = 200 pts., 2nd = 198 pts., etc.)

---Everything else remains the same.

Also, I'm still working on finding a solid motor for Stock Sedans. I've tried over and over to contact someone at Venom and left several messages, but received no return call. Still trying to find a good source of motors for a decent price.
