Well, I may be able to I'll try to see if I can get the results and scan them in. Apparently David (store/track owner) isn't doing his part of the job. It's been about a month since any results were updated on the website.

I can't make any promises, but I'll see what I can get. I'm hoping to have some results for you guys to check out.

Default 2008-2009 MRL Schedule!

Ladies and Gents,

Below is a tentative schedule for the 2008/2009 Indoor MRL season. There should be no major changes. I believe this is very close, if not the final schedule.

Sept. 20, 2008: Mushroom Bowl, Kennett Square, PA -- GRAND OPENER --

Oct. 18, 2008: The Coliseum, Frederick, MD

Nov. 22, 2008: The Race Haus, Glen Burnie, MD

Dec. 20, 2008: The Coliseum, Frederick, MD

Jan. 24, 2009: Mimi's 'The Track', Gaithersburg, MD

Feb. 21, 2009: The Race Haus, Glen Burnie, MD

Mar. 21, 2009: Mimi's 'The Track', Gaithersburg, MD -- GRAND FINALE - 2 Day Race, Double Points. (TQ= 2 pts., Win = 200 pts., 2nd = 198 pts., etc.)

We are still doing 1 throw out. That means we will drop your worst points paying day from the season. Best 5 out of 6 kinda deal.

Should be an Awesome season! Many great tracks, drivers, cars, and door prizes!

You aren't kidding, the associated 280 motor we use at the bowl is about 2x as fast as that losi motor.

Robitronic makes a similar 280 motor for about the same price as the associated motor.

I found this motor after poking around which may be a possibility, not sure how i feel about replaceable brushes though, might make racing more complicated.

Not just speed wise, but the week before the mrl a bnunch of us ran the mrl setup to get ready, and many encountered issues with durability and not lasting very long (ask robbie... or chill... or mnay of the other locals)

are you talking about the motor that comes with the scalpel? thats a 300 size. (i think the asc motors you guys had were the 370's)

Yeah that confuses me because they are called 280, 300 and 370, but they all look so similar.

The scalpel and associated look identical, but when i tested them at mimi's the associated was faster than the scalpel one but not by much.

I've had good luck w/ durability on the associated motors too. i'd be game for testing some of these things out this summer during the high heat.

I have a couple ideas on which way I'm going to go with this. I've considered the AE motor, which is what we had originally planned on running. Unfortunately AE ran out and for whatever reason wasn't producing anymore. Word is that they will be re-releasing more of them soon.

I've also planned to talk to Ralph at RC America to see about getting them more involved and supplying the shops with their 300 size motor at a discount. I honestly don't think a 300 will be too fast considering the speed of the 280's, but I definitely don't want to do anything higher than that. Of course, this will take some serious salesmanship skills on my part considering Ralph is already looking into hooking us up with 2 car kits as door prizes next year. I'll see what I can do in that regard.

I've also had recommendations from Ryan on a few motors that I've been looking at. If these other two options don't pan out, I may end up calling some other manufacturers and feeling out how they would be about sponsoring the series and providing the shops with motors at a discount.

If I do something like that, I'd like to make it easier for the shops to order more motors for less money and be able to sell those motors to the racers. I don't want the shops to end up buying motors that sit on their shelves and never get sold.

Just sit back and relax...I got this

robby i have no quarrel in pickin up a few of these diff motors and runnin them in the off-season, seeing what comes up and what doesnt. both on 700s and 1400s. i like that kinda work.

ae 280 (9bux quantity)
venom can (7bux, unknown)
xray 300 ($$, unknown, speed?)
graupner 300 (cheap, speed??)
reedy brushed
orion brushed
trinity brushed (not really sure most would want to deal w/brushes for micro)

time will tell, but next yr will yield a better motor package and the haus will surely have a new motor option for club racing to replace the trusty, but not Acell friendly, mini mauler.

Robbie,
May I suggest the Venom Fireball.....Great motor for stock and long lasting.....
and at a cheep price for all across the board.....Venom is always looking to sponsor micro racing and I think they would work the deal with you that is being talked about for the season......If you want to try getting more sponsors for the season pm me and I can give you all the info.....
