When the traction is high (verge of traction rolling) I run approx. 95-100 grams on the left rear, If the traction is low (car pushes) I switch it around and run 95-100 grams on the right rear to get the car to turn. My car tweeks even at approx. 85 grams per rear tire.

Good info to have. Thanks!

You open up the front hole in the t-plate. Have you run any "rear steer".

The only reasons I opened the front hole up is to make sure things aren't bound and the rear is square. If the rear isn't square it scrubs too much speed and is difficult to come off the turn, esp. with a brushless.

There is always one in the crowd...
Well dad... I'd try...
1.Putting the body on the correct way!
2.Put 2 rear tires on!
3.Lots of practice!
4.NO!

Well after a few weeks of running in the stock 1/18th class at my local track, and winning the A Main by 2 or more laps each time, the race director has asked that I race my stock BRP in the Mod Scalpel class. This really got my blood boiling - the "fast" guys who win every week were now getting their butts handed to them by a guy who has raced for only 1 year. So they decided to "change" the rules. They said that my wing was to big, my tires were an advantage over theirs - BLAH BLAH BLAH

The real funny thing is they tell me my BRP is a load of junk and they would never buy one

So now I have to go brushless to race. My new goal is to show them that the BRP will kick a$$ in the Mod class too.

So - what is the best brushless motor/system for the BRP? Most of the guys are running 5400Kv or 6800Kv motors. What if any changes need to be done to the chassis to accommodate the added power?

with my stock BRP and the 370 motor on 4 cells - I am 4-5 laps off the Mod pace. So I think the 5400Kv will be the right choice.

any set up tips would be helpful - this is a road course on a good sized 1/10 scale track.

I run the 5400 on small tight tracks, 6800 on big tracks (4 cell). If you have alot of traction the purple rears will work with the high bite fronts. If you need stearing at that speed add just a small amount of drag break, then camber, then dampen the rear more. It will all depend on the traction. At the nats I ran paragon because of the low bite. If you can describe the traction and track I can point you in the right direction.

Just a thought 1/18thRacer - if you don't want to go brushless, you can try a brushed modified motor. Maybe the Team Scream 19T...

We are running the BRP's on a flat oval. I think the T-Plate needs to be stiffer. Does BRP have differt T-Plates?

Bud does have some solid T-plates. I run on a flat oval and have a solid t-plate in my stock car. You can also try narrowing the rear tires to free it up

Default BRP on the Flat Oval

Nope a stiffer T plate will only cause you car to push or become even more tighter. The stock T plate will work just fine. Is this a carpet oval? How about some more info. Tire combos, front springs?
It could be as simple as adding some camber to the front end or adding tire stagger or chassis roll out.

How big is the track you are racing on? curves open or close?

I was just wondering if there's any BRP owners in SoCal? I've had mine for a while now, but no one runs any 18th scale pan car in this area... that I know of at least.

Let's get a class going.... at OCC, BCR, or DHW...
