by locking your diffs w JB weld you will strip spurs like mad....
the driveline needs something to slip.....
you can build the stock ones and make them fairly bullet proof...
carbide diff balls.....
hone(make flat) the d ring flat and glue it to the plastic outdrive....
use quality diff grease....
use shims when installing into diff housings to eliminate side play....
being you are tightening plastic diffs.... make sure you do not overtighten and strip them out.....

the better question is - how do you plan on JB weld'ing a ball diff?? If it was a gear diff, that's one thing (still bad idea for a road car - basher or not), but it has ball and i think the JB weld would f'k up the diffs more than help ya....
Crawler - jb weld the diffs
8th scale on-road - no rear diff
18th scale track - leave the diffs alone
everything else, use the diff as assigned...
If your diffs are "slipping" then you are running them too loose - either that or you're overtightening the set screw which is partially stripping out the plastic on the other side...remember, the 18t diffs don't use a nut on the other side of the diff - its just the screw into plastic, which is prone to "loosening" over time/over tightening
