Hard to say, but if the tires on the two are different in size, that might explain a bit. If the Baja's tires have a larger diameter than the Slider's, than the Baja will have a better top speed because the car's rollout will change. The bigger the tires' diameter, the more distance it'll cover with each motor revolution, so at the same rpm, the bigger tire will produce more top speed....
