Default New tek 18 Steering bind

Hello I am having a little trouble with the steering linkage, it seems that the ball ends are tight that attach to the bellcrank. Has anyone had this problem before and how do you fix it?

That happened to me while I was trying to tighten the linkages on my exotek. The plastic which holds the small pivot ball would not recover and was really tight within the the plastic holder. Luckily I had some dubro links (I think the name is correct) which is pretty much the same thing. I needed to replace them (~$1). You should be able to find those at any RC plane shops.

Another thing (which it could be if I misread your post) could be the linkage into the standard RC18t ballcup could be screwed in too tight and the screw actually creates a little dent inside the ball squeezing the ball ends...

Jerome, the rod ends were really tight so I replaced them with new ones"Dubro" like Pierre mention. It's all butter now. I flipped the servo over and use a longer tierod so that eliminates any other bind issues.

Im going to try that flipping over the servo thing, where it is now it just looks really cluttered.

Where did you get these dubro ends?

And what servo assembly are you using on the servo?

Yeah sweet.

Ive just had a really hard time fixing mine up, when I detatch the link from the horn, and move it by hand, it feels stiff, but not rock solid, its meant to be free with no resistance so Im really trying to get this fixed.

I also ordered an M18 steering assembly from the UK which I was recomended to do, hope this works.

For the AE ballcups use this tip;
http://www.competitionx.com/Support/Sup1.html

Click on the 'sqeeze them ballcups' link.

An old school tip that works every time

What servo assembly are you using? Looks like you got one of those stock X-shaped horns and are just using 1 stick off them, no servo saver?

Im going to try doing this, there is still lots of flex in the plastic parts that I might not need a servo saver.
