we ran the Serpent S240 on the demo track at Ihobby. very impressive. on the track we had a top speed of 20 MPH, and even at that speed they handled very very well. Run time was 30 - 40 minutes on a full charged battery.

We had very little time before the show to prepp them. The configuration we ran. was a Hitec small servo, Spektrum large receiver, Spy Speed control.

Parma was kind enough to fit and paint up a great looking late model body for one of the cars. The final body is not completed but with very little work we were able to get the slot car bodies mounted.

There was little comparison to a Mini Z. While we can get mini z's handling well the electronic pacage has always been a big factor. granted you would have a bit more exspense building a S400 you will have incredible racing.

Also a good note even playing tag with the cars we were not able to break any parts.

I'm posting same message that I posted on another forum;

At first, I was glad that a major competitor is entering into market. However, I think this is not a Serpent but the REWO. Maybe serpent will release this product as cover??

In every case competition level cars entering into market will push standart products. Also larger the community larger the pleasure that we'll get out of it.

Do you have any pics from Serpent stand?

Check the link below. Car is on the market for some time.

I just wish all you companies would stand firm on one scale versus this 1/27th, 1/28th, and 1/24th confusion.

MERCCER4LIFE;
This car is on the market for almost 2 years. You can buy it through the link that I provided. Thats why I'm still hessitant that this car is serpent. Any detailed info from anyone?

oXYnary;
You are totally right about that. At the moment most popular "raceable" chasis is Kyosho MiniZ and it is printed 1:27.452 as the scale on its box
Moreover although we measure larger scales mostly depending on track width (190,200,235 etc) this mini scale is more focused on wheelbase (94,98,102etc). Our car Sinister applied the scale of MiniZ since it is the most widely used one. There are also many other cars like proZ, pro27, mrcg, CT, als etc which has the same sizes. On the other hand there are cars stated more explicitly stated as 1/24 and they are larger than this scale. We hope it will settle in a while. But it will take time.

im thinking about getting a 1/24th mini z type scale car for messing around on smooths surfaces where ever. but with the micro brushless system coming out from losi, does any one know if the micro t motor size would fit into these pan cars? if so these on 2C lipo would be crazy fast.

1/18 sized motors will fit. ie. the Mamba units. The chassis was designed for 180 sized motors (that's what the mamba is). The 1/36 size motor may be too small.

im pretty sure the mamba is a 300 or 380 something like that, could be wrong not really a mini guy, but if those motors fit that would be scary fast.

There is a slot car track that has opened up here. I think they race 1/24 scale slot cars. I was thinking of showing them a m18 or BRP to try on the tracks, but they probably woudl be too big, this however, could be what would work.

Mamba is a 180 sized motor. That does not refer to power output, just physical size. A Mabuchi 180 has flat sides and the Mamba does not. Otherwise, the size is about the same.

180 really, i def thought they were bigger, whatever they are what they are. So a mamba will fit in one of these 1/24th and the car can handle it on 2 cell lipo?
