If you really want to save some money look at the turnigy lipos on hobbyking all you need to do is get the measurments for a batt the fits and compare to the turnigys till you find one the same size I got a couple buddies that did that and even with the upgraded shipping for them they where still cheaper than the brand name batts

Ok the 19.99 losi charger is a peak 7.4 volt charger but it dosent balance also I believe if you decide to buy a higher voltage batt later on it may not work with it I honestly believe chargers like that one are junk I belive spending a little more now can save you money down the line but the 19.99 losi charger will work

Lipo chargers are really expensive vs nicd/nimh chargers.
Micro DT lipo are usually 180mAh only and not 1800mAh. It would last about 10-15 mins run time. The 150mAh nimh batteries will only have about 5-7mins run time.
The losi lipo battery that I have does not have a balance plugs... so I could not balance charge the batteries.
Turnigy Accucell 6 is one of the cheapest in the market... but does require a PSU. Only my Accucell 6, I use a power supply unit from an old tosiba laptop that I have. It is producing 18v at 6Amp... so if you have a similar laptop PSU, then you can get the Accucell 6.

I use a Dynamite vision peak ultra ($45 used) with the Micro battery adapter set at .2A on lipo mode for that same battery. Takes about 20 minutes to charge. 180 MaH seems so small but really will provide 6-10 minutes of run time.
The dynamite isn't very popular because it only goes up to 2.5a on lipo but it doesn't require a separate power supply.

OK, say I get the thunder ac6...i am looking at the pics and it does not look like it has a connecter that directly connects to the micro losi battery, would I have to modify the battery connector>

The thunder a6 comes with a bunch of different connectors but if it don't have the one you need losipartshouse has a tamyia to mini losi adapter for like 3 bucks the good thing about the a6 is if you ever buy a 10th scale car off here that comes with lipo packs the you are already set with a charger to charge them

Losi Micro DT lipo upgrade
I am about to upgrade my stock battery to a lipo but have a question. I will eventually upgrade to the brushless sytem so I want to get the Losi 11.1V 200mAh 3-cell LiPo but it says that it is for use with the brushless upgrade. My question is will this battery still work with the stock motor until i get the brushless in a month or so? Thanks.

thanks. is there a huge difference between the 7.4 - 300mah and the 11.1 -200mah when it comes to the brushless setup?
