Default rc18t batteries

I'm looking for batteries for my rc18t. I want something with alot of power and that would last long. Is it better to make your own packs or just buy pre made ones? I only have a nihm charger, but im looking into lipos also. Do you need to have a lipo charger for lipo batteries? Do you guys have recommended sites on where to buy the batteries? Or if anyones selling their batteries let me know. I'm running a tekkin 6.8 brushless system btw. Any help would be great thanks.

You have to have a special charger for lipos!!!!! But if you want to run NiMH just get some IB 1400 they are great batteries. Is up to you if you want to build then. CheapBatteryPacks.com is about the best place you can go, you can buy loses calls or buy a pack that is made for you car, they will even put the plug that you want on

Elite 1500's, CBP will make a pack for you, and with deans its still under 20 bucks us. They outperform the IB's in every way, BTW Ive had both

i think most electronics only go up to 8 cells, so with 10 cells you'd risk melting your esc.

Ya i would not go with a 10 cell. I have a 1/10 scale LRP esc on my 18t and i don't even think that would take 8 cells. I would run the SMC 7 cell packs.

You should check out the new Apogee LiMn Batteries. Their similar to Lipos, but much more safe to use. I switched over to these, recently, and they seem to work just as good as the Lipos that I used to use. Plus, the prices aren't too bad either.
