The Hitec 81mg will fit the m18t servo saver. Just understand the 81mg has a tendency to loose its center.

Default Gearing.

Not sure if I should start a new thread, I will try for an answer here and see.

I have a small figure 8 track in my yard. I have been playing with my truck for a long while and the only problem I am having as of lately is that my motor is getting real hot. I have the stock set up right now and running on a 9t pinion on a reedy mod motor, 18 turn I believe (Blue Lable). I will be switching to MT tires soon and I know that with the gearing I have now, I will have a more pronounced problem.

My thaught on this is that I should go with the larger steel spur gear the (65t) in order to get some wiggle room and fix the problem with the gearing.

My questions: Is my thought pattern correct? Has anyone else experienced this? Will the larger spur fit without modification in the plastic chassis, or a CF one for that matter? will I need to but the spur gear cover, (I.E. will the spur protrude far beyond the bottem plane of the chassis?

Thank you in advance for any insight.

Mike

My Xray M18t pro is the best 1/18 out there but finding these parts or even people online that carry these parts can be frustraiting. I paid $130 for my pro w/ foams and rubber, and tekin mini rage/6800. I would of paid more for extra parts!

I agree parts are scarce. if you ever want to sell your truck I will buy it from you. Having an extra car for parts is probably what is best. PM me if interested.

I couldn't do that to myself. I had a kid last night offer me $150 for it. He liked it cause it was fast but I explained parts are hard to find for xray's. rc18 r or t would be the first 1/18 to get into!

I wanted to revive this thread, because my buddy and I are getting back into racing Micros on the track in my back yard. Does anyone have anything new, or want to sell some M18t stuff.

Mojo thanks, I got your PM. Sorry I read over my post and I see how unclear it was. I was wondering if there is anything new in the Micro Xray world. But I am also looking for Micro xray parts all the time.
My buddy and I decided to make the plunge into lipo 2 cell and 3 cell packs with 8000kv brushless setups, and we cant get over how well they handle the extreeme power!

Well we have 3 cell lipo packs and 8000kv brushless kicking through the M18t that has many of the PRO options and they handle the power without major incident. I am not going to say they are invincible, but no car is. we run our trucks on a "baseball clay" track with jumps, whoops, banked turns and have broken:

front shock shaft
couple of knuckles
plastic CVDs

Not to bad, considering the abuse of racing.

Default Atomic and 3 Racing aftermarket parts

I know I am entering the M18T market way late. Many people have probably written many reviews of the different aftermarket parts, but in an effort to revive the trucks I am going to post reviews of parts that I find and try.

1) 3-Racing Motor Heat Sink with Cooling Fan - Part# M18T-04/BU:

I am very satisfied with this combo, it wasn't a "direct" bolt on for my setup, but it did function and reduced motor temperatures drastically (with no body).

Pros: Keep in mind that I am running a mamba 25 ESC with a 8000kV motor and 2cell 1750 mAh Lipo. With an ambient air temperature of 69 degrees, I never saw a motor temp over 130 degrees. At about $16.50 shipped it is cheaper that the Xray aluminum mount and has the additional fan. The additional fan not seem to cahnge runtimes.

Cons: I needed to use a dremel to open up the motor mount holes in order to fit the castle creations 8000kV motor. I do not have a stock motor, so I do not know if it fits the standard brushed motors. In addition you will need to decide how to power the fan. I used an old piece of servo wire that already had the standard 3 pin female connector and utlized an the aux port on my Rx. I also found that the fan performed best when the Logo portion of the fan is facing the motor. This is the opposite of the factory configuration.

2) Atomic Racing M18T Carbon Fiber Shaft - Part# XRT003

This was a direct bolt on, it fit like a factory part and works great. No cons here and at around $10 shipped it is not an expensive part at all.

Default Metal pinion gears

Has anyone found a parts vendor that carries the Xray brand metal pinion gears?? I have not been able to locate them anywhere.
Thanks!
