The upper arms especially have a tendency to break very easily - my experience has been focused on using the truck on a track though.
I found if you can stay off the boards, you'll be fine (I can't). One small touch and you can easily snap one in half. Bummer is that both arms aren't symetrical therefore if you break the right one twice...it'll cost you 16$ (and you have two left ones left...).
Performance wise it's awesome. Great drivetrain and exceptional quality.
Pros:
- Great performer
- one purchase and no hops required (if you buy the pro)
- Very well built, no slop
Cons
- Very little parts support other then online orders.
- Expensive parts (non-symetrical, upper left/right, lower right/left) and pricey
- upper arms waaaay too fragile
If RPM made some upper arms, I would race mine in future Nats race. But that's not going to happen, I'm going back to RC18T\B.
I've also used the RC18 line and I'm now going back to it.
RC18 Pros
- Durable
- Easy parts availibility
- Cheaper parts support
RC18 Cons
- Not as good of a performer (IMO)
- Sloppy steering
- Needs hops (exotek conversion)
You can spend a few bucks and turn it into a good performer, particularly for the steering.
For bashing, ... depends what you do...
