hi, i run on a 18mx7.5m made of 12mm thick 600mmx600mm EVA foam tiles. Just about any tire works on this surface so I've stuck to the kit rubber for now. Running a Mamba 6800kv.

On this surface, and Im guessing carpet is similar, a stiffer front end is useful to settle down the darting feeling of 18th scale cars. I found the cars to be more stable and I can drive them harder.
Cheers

Ive used the Mc Allister bodies on mine. I've also used the AE 18t body on mine. Here are a few pics with the Mc Allister bodies. The stock car body really helps sheild the front end in crashes

heres their link
http://www.mcallisterracing.com/racing/

I had to alter the body posts. Thats why they are different on my xray. You can see them in the pics. I had to use normal body posts and then drill them out so they would slide over the posts already on the truck.

They are too short (AE). If you don't like the Xray ones, 3 racing makes some with threads.

The Xray aluminum shocks are by far the best I've seen on a 18th scale. They are super smooth. I've heard of the 3r shocks denting and bending.
