Question for everyone. I`m putting a mamba 6800 in my M18T and I was just wondering what gearing to start with? I will be running on clay indoor offroad track. Thanks

I have a question. How would you put the M18T wheels on a tire truer? What arbor would you use?
thanks

As noted earlier, they are drilling a slightly larger hole on the rim so the rim goes right on the truers shaft, and locking it down with a arbor nut.

You then will have to use washers though on the universal as per the nut wont have enough material to hold the rim on otherwise.

most arbors use a 4mm threaded shaft for fastening. I tapped the hole in my wheel 4mm (ran the tap in the current hole) and put a nut on for safe keeping. You need to tap the hole straight......

Well I switched to an asphalt track. All the shores I had with foams simply gave too much traction in that I had to let off throttle totally to take corners, and still almost would hit the outside berms if I wasn't careful.

I tried some top cad (of all things) treaded on-road rubber tires I had sitting around and noticed a immediate improvement. I could ever so slightly slide into the corner, and though my exit speed steering was a bit below what I wanted, it was much greater than with foams.

I next removed my front sway bar in order to gain some more exit speed steering (kept rear), and this really started to help the vehicle come together. I would have preferred to keep my front one on, but did not have the heavier 1.5mm sway bar for the rear, so kept the 1mm for the rear without a front instead.

I finally ended with putting traction compound on all four tires. I think with some shock and spring adjustments I can get even more high speed steering since this track is so much infield. I also think going to like a Losi Street Meat 1/18th tire will help as it looks to have less side bite, so increased steering in corner (and a better compound).

(And yes, TQed and won main)

Ya got me! Only 5 of us. We have gained interest at this new track after they saw how well we ran. 1/10th Sedan class was in the 14 sec range while our best lap of the night was a 15 done by a M18 Panther. I was averaging about a 16.5, but feel with more tweaking can lower it (especially with better quality tires).

Default Zack does it again (Nats Warmups)!

Congratulations to Zack Barry who successfully Tq'ed and Won both the Truck 4wd class (M18T) and Mini Monster (M18MT) class at this past weekends RC Madness 1/18th National Warmup race. He powered his Xray rides with Tekin 6.8kv systems for the wins.

Default Xray M18MT Wins Monster Class at 1/18th 2007 National

Xray driver Zack Barry Tq'ed and won the Duratrax Mini Monster Class with his Tekin powered Xray M18MT at this years R/C Madness 1/18th Indoor Off road Nationals. He as well placed second in Mod (Brushed) 4wd in a very close battle with Associated's Josh Anderson and third in stock 4wd with his Xray M18T.

Congratulations to Zack Barry and Team Xray.

Hey guys,
I've recently aquired an M18MT all stock. I'm loving the ride it has now, but definitely need far more speed.
How does the XMC 300R speedy hold up when you plug say a peak raider or something with far fewer turns into it, or should I simply just go for lipos and BL again with this one similar to the Mini-T, although maybe a 6K motor, not an 8K??

Also, the front wheels are connecting with the chassis at full lock, but this could simply be a servo issue that some mucking about should remedy.

Cheers.
