Although not much, the arms, links, and dogbones are all shorter.

I still want one.

Just thought I should clarify that.
Me still wants.

Thanks for clarifying that tphalen. That was one of my fears, that the sedan class was going to get unbalanced since so many people (and tracks) think they are these same. Then assuming they could race the same 1/18th touring class even those these aren't really the same specs and truthfully, depending on the track, have a unfair advantage with its much wider trackwidth/size.

Hope to see a full touring version though sometime in the future. I'd love to see more companies offering competition in touring!

it opens up a new class.....rally...onroad micro is really tc. In my neck of the woods we have the formula18 class which is designed for onroad 1/18 scale trucks. Im looking forward to a new platform...

Seeing that it's based on the 18T, this little guy should do well on a rough parking lot track. Unlike the HPI or X-ray where anything less smooth than a pool table upsets the car.

that's cool Tony...I was just wondering if there was something in the works that would allow them to be more similar...But hey, they aren't and the still look cool as anything...

and it gives me something to do to my RC18T that was going to be a DO, but now had a new purpose

Cant wait to start seeing the parts showing at the local hobby shops and online places

Default Scale?

I really like the recent trend to put larger (often 1/10 scale) wheels and tires on 1/18th off road vheicles, put high powered motors like mamba brushless and then race them on a road course track without jumps. Supposeldy they are faster than simularly hopped up M18s.

Which is a bit infair to the M18s and other 1/18th Touring cars.

If the track width of the Vehicle, and the wheel/tire size is the same (or very close) to 1/10 TC,

What you really have is a short wheel base 1/10 TC, don't you?

No. These are still 1:18th scale....still alot smaller than 1:10th. Almost the same size and a 1:12th scale pan car.

And I still don't know why people like to put 1:10th scale tires/wheels on their 1:18th scale car?!?!?!?! Sure, there are better 1:10th scale tire compounds but if everyone runs the 1:18th scale tires, EVERYONE is at the 'supposed' disadvantage.

At the Nats last year we ran some Losi Street Meats (or whatever they are called) and custom inserts and the cars we WAY hooked up! I don't think you could have made them faster with the heavier 1:10th scale tires.

Default track

I believe these cars are approx 140mm wide, the RC18t around 184mm and an Xray M18 100mm front 107 rear, but all three have a 159mm wheelbase,

This RC18r has about 35% wider track than the M18 which is why the bodys look like they do.

Even though they are really differnet beasts it will be interesting to see how they perform compared to M18 on carpet road course.

I think the observation about being superior on parking lot tracks is important because it also applies to the stree out in fron of most peoples house or any un-prepared parking lot.

No, the xray has a 150mm wheelbase. I think the rc18t has a 154mm. No idea if the r is shorter or longer since it would be influenced by the arms.

its the same wheelbase as a 18b/t/mt.

These things are pretty fast right out of the box.We were racing them last night on our carpet track at the local Hobbyshop.Awsome!
