Default Help me decide Losi or Associated Mini

I know very little about the minis. Motor sizes (27,19,17,9) I understand those but can someone explain how the 370, 270 ect..... works. And the batteries. I know the rtr's come with an 1100 but what is a good upgrade size. I understand 1800,3300,4200 but not sure about the smaller sizes.

Sorry If this question is po'ing any one, I just cant find a direct answer and I am going to buy one this weekend.

The major thing is Associated or Losi. Long time Associated fan, have always admired the Losi.

The major difference that I can tell Is the losi has dual motors and dual steering cervos, while the associated has one of each.

Sometimes double does not mean better - it can be slower and heavier not to mention eats up batteries faster.

The last thing is they say the $299 Lisi kit comes with the 2.4g controler, but is it a true 2.4g and not a style of the 2.4

Assuming by the price I would assume so especially besause the rtr Associated is half the price.

I would go 18T/B all the way . I'm not sure about the Losi so I will not comment on it and I don't know about the hop ups for it , I do know how ever that the 18T is awesome , its durable , its fast right out of the box and there are tons of hop ups for it , the only problem with it is the steering and that is fixed real easy . Thats the retail price, not what it costs in stores.

As it is, the MLST2 which your referring to isn't even available yet.

Before you decide on either of those two vehicles you should decide what you are wanting to do with a mini/micro. Losi and AE are not the only options out there.

I now realize that the Losi is a mini monster truck, and they are a little different all together.

My plans for the mini is to have fun with it, take it to the track on practice days but I dont have intentions to race it.

Currently I have a Revo 3.3, 3 RC10T's, 1 stock, 1 heavly modded, and one new in the box, and I have a T4.

I want to get a mini b/c it is different than anyother truck that I have or had. That's why I was thinking the 1/18 th, and associated.

If you think there is a better brand option, speak up. I would like to know what trucks you guys have and if you think there worth while, I would definately look in to them.

Thanks for pionting out the retail price, I know I can buy them a cheaper but I used that to reference the different trucks.

I'm just learning about them so sorry for the ignorance.

the 280/370 thing is just that, it is the actual size of the motor(1/10 scale is 540), as far as what is faster you may have to ask around, not many companies rate micro motors by turns(some good ones are the reedys, teh lrp fusions, the trinity micro cobalts) . for the cells, intellect 1400's are probably your best choice. best combo of punch/runtime i have seen
