Default 1/18th on 1/10th scale off road track.

Ok I have seen videos of the Vendetta taking on 1/10th scale off road tracks very well. I was wondering if the RC18T could do the same thing? My 18B takes a serious beating and the only time I seem to break anything is when I drive it under a car tire. So I would have to think it could handle the jumps but not really sure.

If anyone hear has run the 18B or 18T on 1/10th off road I would love some setup advice. I really haven’t a clue where to begin and the people at the hobby shop know very little about any off the mini’s. They don’t ever think the smaller trucks can handle 1/10th tracks. Oh and yes I expect to break things it is just a part of the hobby.

Thanks, Tom

I talked with a guy at my track who used to race as I do,,, but he raced with a rc18....
he had the wide arm kit
half8th buggy wheels
mini-t stock shocks 60wt shock oil

not sure what servo he was using

he has actually commented on how well my vendetta handles the track and has said it looked better than his.... too bad he doesnt race the mini anymore, I would love to race against him

Yea from what I have been seeing the Vendetta is way better for racing. I am thinking about ordering an ST but I really know nothing about them. Heck I don’t even know what size servo they use or if I could use the brushless motors and lipo’s I already own. I also can’t get parts for one local. Well I can’t get parts for my RC18’s either but since I own 3 of them and have realized what I tend to break I am well stocked for parts.

The track I want to run opens up in about 2 weeks so I guess I will see what I can do with my RC18’s and try to learn some more about the Vendetta’s in the mean time, thanks.

the rc18b really shines on a carpeted track. The fact it is a little smaller it can be faster and more nimble. It recovers from crashes very well. The vendetta being a little bigger and heavier doesnt crash well. They break more often. The reality is they both are fun to run and I have seen both do well. In dirt it is the opposite as far as handling. The rc18b becomes harder to control but like a lot of things in the right hands it can perform in the wrong hands and it will self destruct.....
The ST is a different animal. It uses a double pillow ball front end (durable)
and both the vendetta and vendetta st use a full size servo (taped in place)
I believe the ST will now crash better and become more durable having an edge......
