Well i don't want to argue much here, with proven facts and specs i'm here to help our vendetta buddies looking for the right motor. I received a spare new box of Turnigy brushless motor last week. I took photo rather than yank out another motor from my chassis. Below are the pictures:
1. Turnigy motor
2. Trunigy 370 size vs stock Anderson/Duratrax brushed motor. Notice that Turnigy have longer cyclinders which means more magnet surface to produce torque power.
3. Behold! its 2mm. No lies. See it for yourself.
4. Here the bar code for the products to trace down the manufacturer (TURNIGY).
5. Large direct quad vents for extra cooling. Stays extremely cool. No doubt.
6. Yes even at the back also are fully vented. Air directly goes in to cool down the motor.
**Note that this motor are marketed for aircraft models usuall for ducted turbine motor which is why i never shows up in the land based model market.
Here the picture of my ride. After weeks of runing i prefer Detta for racing, E-revo good for bashing only.
Reasons i love detta because of this equation:- with only 1 pack of 2s1p and with the right brushless can produce powerfull torque/speed and longer runtime thus the size makes it easy to push the detta without extreme overheat problem. I want powerfull output to the wheels using only 1 pack of lipo and longer runtime without over heat plus stability. Thats why i love Detta, its an all rounder performance but ..yeah its fragile too. I also do love E-revo VXL but the problem is it got overheat in minutes on 2s1p and still cannot pull any wheelies unless on 4s1p. Which is why i seldom bring E-Revo out for action. I want something which i can spend long hours under the sun. Everyone here wants power so thats the fact. E-revo win the durability department. Traxxas didn't put the right brushless on E-revo. Since i own and you own it too i guess you knew that all along, you cant hide the fact from fiction. Why do i need 4s1p to pull wheelie and stunts on E-revo. I think its a waste of lipo resources and yet have short runtime. I'm waiting until i found a right motor to replace my current Revo motor.
Ok here's the building spec that you can follow to replicate my detta ST performance,
Built it and experience it the power. (I have tested with several esc, motor, pinion and spur..below are my optimal setup)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESC: Castle Creation Sidewinder micro brusless.
Motor: Brushless Turnigy 3790 (long can) as shown above.
Lipo: Rhino 1800mah 2s1p 24c
Pinion: 17T fit 2mm shaft (LRP 48 pitch)
Spur: 45T
Heatsink/fan: Yeah Racing Tornado.
Universals drive: Atomic Reinforced
Diff Outdrive/cup: Yeah racing alu
Tyre: ST stock tyres (get more grip to pull wheelies and speed)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok here you go, now build it. The spec speak the truth....unless you don't own a detta.
You'll get a youtube soon, but i'm now travelling around with my company. Be back on r/c track for action again.
Here's my detta.
Guides: For more perfect gear binding, always break in your newly install pinion and gears by hold your detta with wheels suspended in the air/off the ground and run at 50%-60% throttle till 1 packs of lipo is finish to allow the teeth between pinion and spur to mesh perfectly as the plastics/alu rubs under no load until it binds perfectly without anymore friction issue. It works for me and my gears lasts longer.
