I have got myself a RC18B RTR, i brought it after my first day working at Campbelltown Hobbies (so much of my pay has gone back into this shop)...
I have just ordered a whole heap of option parts (CVDs, Carbide diff balls, titanium turnbuckles etc etc) Everything except the Alloy arms
I am going to hook it up to my M11 radio, and i would like to know what Motor is everyone using in one of these? I was looking at the Mamba before, but the Tekin system has now caught my eye.
Also what else could i option up on this? Like Carbon Fibre chassis, longer suspension arms etc?
Well i was gonna just use it for fun and just to drive around the shop when its not busy.
But typical me ends up going on the internet and seeing some hotted up RC18B's and wants mine to be like that or better. So i ordered everything for it...
Then i decided if im gonna have all this nice stuff on it i might as well race it.
I know its stupid but all i can say is i just love having the best of the best
If you want a CF chassis get a diggity designs.....
get the DP draglink and the DP shock spring keepers. While you are at it get the DP 1/10 tc adapters.
As far as motors the reedy mini mod 17t (blue can) is an awesome brushed motor...
With the stock speedo you have to be careful with how hot a motor you put in it. You should be OK with a 17t Reedy but I wouldnt go any lower in turns than that.
As far as the brushless goes, both the Castle Mamba and the Tekin Mini-Rage will make you go real fast for less money than a new speedo and a brushed motor will cost. I have both setups and I prefer the Tekin because it is easier to set-up on board than the Mamba. Just dont get cought up in having the Fastest out there the lesser brushless motors will get you to rediculous speeds (6800 or 5400) and will be easier on your diffs than the 8000.

I was at our local track today and a guy had an 18B and I was pretty impressed. I raced 8th scale for years, and got out of it about 2 years ago. Since, I have adopted the micro on road craze.
This buggy was awesome on the off road track. It was well balanced and drove the track nice. The buggy was bone stock with a stock radio.
I was running my new 18R, but shure would be interested in the 18B.
What does the team kit come with that does not come with the RTR kit? Other than electronics...
The FT kit comes with:
Blue aluminum dog bones
carbide diff balls
graphite battery brace
blue heat sink motor mount
titanium turnbuckles
blue aluminum wheel locknuts

Im still trying to figure out what else I need in the steering linkage other than the drag link. Do we use the stock stuff and just upgrade the saver and the drag link?
