Default Recoil

I forgot how much fun recoils were. Ide like to Thank Ron (Duneland) for letting me borrow one of his. Ran it Saturday night at his track and Sunday at Underground. I did pretty well, needless to say I WILL have another one as soon as I get my RATFactor chassis.!!

Smile Setup Sheets

Does anyone have setup sheets for the Recoil PRO. Or a good starting setup for carpet, tight track. Thanks!

I`ve run:

brushed: neu 400 (lot of work), Ae super370 (super fast, but breaks easily), venom fireball (hot as a fireball), and of course stock e-370.

Brushless: Tekin redline esc and trinity cobalt brushless motor, Ammo brushless in runner (gpmg 5140?) ,and mamba 25.

Yep.....That's me....

I run 2/3 a matched cells and brushed motors for Team Scream when I am running a class that doesn't allow lipos and brushless motors......

The esc in my sons recoil just went bad, to hot of motor I guess. Any how was thinking that I would put in a brushless setup so he could get a little more run time and not have to deal with the maintenance of a brushed motor. Not to mention it will be faster.

I just want something simple and somewhat inexpensive. I was thinking the castle creations new sidewinder looked like it would work good enough. Anyone see a problem with that? Which size of motor should I get? And would anyone have a better suggestion.

I know this has been discussed in this thread but I thought most of that was for racing and this for my 13 year old.

And my lhs shop don't carry nothing so I'm going to have to go internet.

You might want to try airplane motors, helicoptor motors. I am getting my first brushless system, The HXT 3970kv. It`s only 19.00! And you might want tom go to youtube, and type in "recoil ammo motor" and this guys recoil is going wicked fast. But an ammo combo is about $100.00 with esc!

Husk
I have had relly good luck with the Sidewinder. I have run brushed and brushless with it. Great little speedcontrol.
I think that the Mamba motors are a little small for the Recoil but I have seen lots of people run them with no problems.
Like Micro-Man said there are lots of airplane motors and helicoptor motors
that work great with the Recoil and the Sidewinder can run them all.

i think I am going to have to go the more expensive way and buy something like 4400kv or more because i am not ready for lipo, but I still want a nice impressive top whack with 6 or 7 cell nimh...
