I got a Mult Plex tiny S servo... How do you guys install this thing...???
the screw to mount the servo saver is to short, the ears do not work with the mounts...
Also what servo saver should I upgrade to, or is there one?
The Recoil comes with 2 different types of servo mounts. The undersized stock servo uses the off-set mounts. I think the Tiny S will mountwith one of the off-set mounts and one of the in-line mounts. I mounted my servo with the output shaft toward the outside of the chassis. This required a longer link to the bellcrank, but eliminates the silly angle of the original set-up.
I recomend the Xray servo saver. It's expensive for a saver, but works great. I have them on backorder right now though. Perhaps Strictly has some? The one that comes on the Vendetta is not too bad, and could be used. The smaller Kimbough is good, but large enough that some grinding would be required.

Well we put in a team orion micro baha motor. That's what my lhs had in stock. It seems to be a bit quicker and faster so it seems alright. We didn't want to hassle with the stock esc/rec.
Now the new problem. We have broken 4 wheels now. The first one was his fault. Now we get the new motor in and he goes across the street to a big parking lot. Running along I notice it looks like the wheel is wobbling so I run in to get a new one. Replace that one and he's running along and the wheel goes running off on it's own and the car does a periot about 2 feet in the air. I go to replace that wheel and notice the other side is also coming apart. They all break the same right around the hub. He didn't hit anything or nothin.
Any ideas on different wheels cause these suck!!???
The foams are on a different wheel. They have the same appearance, but are far stronger. The foams outlast the rubber tires by a large margin anyway. We had many broken wheels when running the original rubber tires, but the tires were done in one raceday anyway. You get very good life from the foams, and no wheel breakage.

Six of us just got done racing our recoils tonight and everyone had a blast! Most of us have been racing micro scales since the mini-z and this is one of the best products to come out in a while. All we have done to ours is replace the steering servo, increase shock oil weight, set the droop properly and race. The stock servo just seems to lack the torque needed, but you do not need an expensive replacement, just use an inexpensive larger scale servo and shoe-goo it to the chassis. Looking forward to more recoil racing.
how do you set your droop? My drive line is also SUUUPER loud, is there something i can do to get some of the friction out?
We have been racing Recoils since the beginning and I have never seen or heard of a broken foam tire wheel. FWIW, I've busted lots of other stuff on the car, none of which I blame on the car itself, mostly bad driving.
I am holding in my hand a foam tire and a rubber tire.
The wheels are clearly different, in fact, they are not even the same diameter.
I'm not a chemist, but if I had to guess, they are not molded from the same formula plastic either.
