huskerdually, if you have the time to read this whole thread , there has been some good discussion on "aftermarket" motors. The best one tried is the Carisma R380. It is as good (performance wise) as stock but much more durable. And it is very inexpensive! You will need an adapter plate which is only a couple bucks.

I ran my Recoil on my street yesterday. The weather was nice enough to run it AND one of my Nitro cars! It felt good! My Recoil is plenty fast and handles well but I have a tough time keeping it on track (straight line). Is this a comoon problem with RTR radios? I have a JR on my nitro cars and with the exponential feature, I can keep the car under control.

Maybe dial some steering out of the radio?

On our track I have it down to about 75%. I have no need for the servo to travel fully left and right.

Asc. VCS springs. They are to long, but cut in half, 1 spring does 2 shocks.
RATFactor racing will have spring sets in the near future. For now the VCS is the way to go. 4 spring rates available.

For a stock motor, we run the Carisma 380 upgrade motor for the Carisma m14 car. Requires an adapter (EFLM1910), and enlargement of the opening in the chassis. Much more reliable, with similar performance to stock.

On the Sportwerks tx? I was adjusting the steering trim but that is for left/right. I got it to track straight but had trouble keeping it in a straight line due to the "touchiness" of the steering wheel. It could be just my lousy driving skills or lack there of!

There is a dual rate for steering throw adjustment. It is the knob on top. Turn that down to desensatise (sp?) the steering.

Thanks very much, duneland! When are you coming down to Jtech again? I discovered another indoor track just northwest of Champaign. They just have an oval as far as I know but do an indoor off road race as well. Pretty cool. They race on Saturday nights. I am going to check it out soon. That would be a good weekend for some out-of-towners, hit that race Sat. night and then Jtech on Sunday morning!

Default Ko Propo

Anyone tried to use the KO PROPO PDS-3014 servo in the recoil? I picked one up the other day because I wanted to use my 3PK and HRS receiver with the recoil. The HRS system requires you to use a 6.0v digital servo. The 3014 servo fit this well...but none of the adapters for the servo saver work with this servo. The gear on the servo is quite a bit smaller. Having trouble figuring out what servo saver I need to buy that fits this type of servo. Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks,
Scotty

bigb11, Website is; www.dunelandhobbies.com . Site needs lots of work. No ordering on the site at present. I am trying to learn more about the site development, but many other things have been taking precedence. RATFactor Racing upgrades will be available soon. I do not have specific dates yet. There will be some pretty neat stuff.

Nitronubee, Not sure when I will make it again, but hope to make it pretty soon. We race here on Friday and Sat. nights, so that other track won't work for me.

That KO is way too small for the Recoil. We had lot's of problems with it in smaller vehicles. Thought it would be a winner, but was disapointed. Lot's of room on the Recoil, might as well go with something more Robust. Lots of choices from the size that fits Xray m18 (Multiplex tiny S for instance), up to sevos intended for 1/12.

I got a Mult Plex tiny S servo... How do you guys install this thing...???

the screw to mount the servo saver is to short, the ears do not work with the mounts...

Also what servo saver should I upgrade to, or is there one?

I had to shoe-goo the servo down. Make sure to rough up the surfaces to get good adhesion.
It worked well until I got my RATFactor chassis. Then it was just a matter of drilling and countersinking a couple of holes. SO much better!!
