No but I get that a lot. I'm from NEBRASKA home of the CORNHUSKERS and my 1/1 is a dually pickup.

So should I spring for the pro. I got an old futaba controller I figured I could use to get going. We don't have anyplace to race them right now so I don't want to spend a ton of money just to bash with my son.

Hey, huskerdu! I was thinking about doing the same thing. How old is your son? I was going to buy a Pro and give him my Recoil. Then, I started hearing some negative comments about the Pro and held off. Any more thoughts?

So I go from one recoil to three with enough spare parts to gag a maggot in the matter of 2 days.

This is good stuff, if anyone out there in Tampaland wanna race PM me for new indoor carpet track details

My son is gonna be 13 in April. I've been out of the scene for like 15yrs. And I wasn't in it much to begin with. I'm starting to think if he sticks with it getting us both 1/10 cars. I like the recoil because it is small enough to run in are basement but not as crammed as like the 1/18 cars. idk what I'm going to do.

You know, I was blasting mine up and down my hallway last night, and I think if you have a prety decent sized basement you should be fine. They are a bit bigger than an 1/18th though??

Ya I don't like how crammed in the electronics and stuff are on the 1/18. The recoil just looks like a shrunk 1/10. My kid runs his all through the house. And we live across the street from a church with a big parking lot so he runs it over there(when there's no snow).

Basicly the pro comes with ball difs, cv axles and that aluminum motor mount.

Cool! Mine will be 9 in April. He is kinda into it. When he feels like it. He is pretty good with it, though. We started with Xmods. I would have to work on them but he ran it well. Even my 4 y/o is catching on! You're right, this is the perfect size to work on and get used to. We have an indoor track near us but we can only get there on race day. I would like both of us to try it before getting into a race. Other than that, we have to wait until spring to run outside. Once they get the hang of the Recoil, I will break out my 1/10 nitro cars! I have dialed down the throttle servo and let him try it. He was a little scared with that one!

Is there, or could you ask for a "production" class at your track?

That might help get him on there, and you could run with him

Especially if the only day is race day

Default RECOIL IS STILL HOT AND SEXY!

In my refresh mind, I totally remembered on March 1, 2007: I purchased the RECOIL 1/14th, and my car worked perfectly out of the box after I followed the instructions and etc... Recoil look so beautiful chic!

Look at that pic look better than many sticks over car I dislike.. I peeled some sticker off from my babe recoil. I will cut and add Carbon stick on hood soon. I want to make recoil look performance racing.. smile!

I peeled the stickers off from sweet car, i will go something modfiy body sedan soon!

I never throw it on track. Someday I will throw this on track sooner /later.

I still have it. But Most I drive TC10.

Huskerdually......You can do two different things....One you can buy the pro with all the newer hop ups on it but it doesn't come with any electronics...or Two you can get the ready to run which out of the box is a good car to start with and then purchase the Motor mount , adjustable shocks and ball diffs and save some money until you want to up grade more latter.....

Adam, didn't see you at that dinner but was introduced to you at your booth....Was wearing a Castle yellow and black pit shirt if you remeber.... I will come down and run with you in Tampa if you can get the Recoil class going.....I am originally from Florida and come back down all the time to see everyone......Let's hammer Mike at Snowbirds to allow a Exhibition class of the Recoils for next years Snowbirds and get these great cars out to the masses.......

That is a good idea, Adam. I mentioned it to them and they said it did not matter if you never have raced before. Just come out and have fun. I am not sure how much fun it would be never have tried it before. But, they are good people out there and there are some younger kids out there racing. Of course, they have probably been racing for a couple years. Ask kenji and duneland, they have been down there.

FARBES: that is looking sharp!

Anyone looking to sell a stock Recoil cheap, please let me know!

thats a very good point "how much fun can you have" when the other 4-10 people in your heat have been doing it for a few years.

I know for a fact its intimidating (it's the same reason I'm NOT running snowbirds this year) and I've been running these cars for 17 years!

I think at his age, the worse thing that could happen is that he "((""might""))" get in someones way and that particular person throws a hissy fit, and afterwords you can remind him that he's throwing said hissy fit over a toy car

I say go for it!

Remember what were all doing here, were all just playing with really freaking expensive toy cars and its our hobby that we all enjoy. So if you get in some dudes way...so what, your having fun at your hobby and thats the most important thing

By the way, I ran brushed in one of my Recoils for the first time in a year and geeze was it loud and slow....I need my brushless back!

Brushless really spoils

Default Springs, Springs, Springs.

Guys, I'm wondering what other shock springs can be used on the Recoil? Looking for something stiffer. As far as I know, Sportwerks hasn't produced any optional springs, as of yet.

I think 3 racing makes some but I'm not sure.

The plastic end piece came out of my sons motor yesterday(not impressed). It doesn't really look fixable(at least not to last). What would be a good motor to put into it that will work w/factory esc/reciever?
