Id like to use a six cell 1200 pack. Id think a seventh cell in series would just drain the pack faster. I also imagine that with a BL setup the batts should yield better results asfar as run time is concerned.

I actually got a 1500 pack to try out, just waiting on mynew set of wheels because of a hard chair hit.

Default Nice Kit

I just got this car and am impressed with the car overall. I will say that the stock servo is exactly as someone else posted here, EXTREMELY sluggish. I decided that I needed to upgrade it first and foremost so I put on a "Full" sized KO2143 (high speed digital .08 sec transit 110 oz) lol.

Now the car turns just like I want it to. I just used the stock servo saver and removed the side guard and attached the servo via servo tape. Works like a champ now.

I also upgraded the ESC just so I could use my M11 with Spectrum. Used the XPS AE speedo and it works good.

Nice kit overall, great to play with in the garage on some interlocking foam mats from Sam's club...makes a great track vs. RCP (too expensive). 1/4 the cost.

Yeah seems everyone agrees the servo needs to go. I guess the question is what should it be replaced with. A full size servo, that while strong adds abit of weight, a 12th scale servo thatl do the job but is also heavier than a micro or a powerful high end micro digital servo? Weigh in guys, what do you think?

Hey, glad to hear ya again. this is shawn from maryland. hope to see ya back in racing.

try a hs65. they work pretty good. I drove a recoil with a brushless system and a hs65 and it ran well. we plan to run them this spring in our outdoor program at HTGB.

On the issue of run-time; we run 6 min quals and 8 min mains with no problem.
Hung brushes are not uncommon with these motors & will cut run-time and speed if hanging slightly.
1/12 scale servo is more than enough, larger is dead weight.

Yeah Im back, PBs closed but we run at Zaks now. Thanks for the servo suggestion, I think I ran one of those in one of my micro trucks. Asfar as running these outdoors there has been talk of running these outdoors here aswell. Definatly an interesting propisition.

I saw this in the Horizon catalogue - gotta say it looks interesting...Could be tempted - much more tempted than with that scapel

But here's the real question...does it come in a kit version so you're not stuck with crappy electronics you need to sell??

Thanks K, nah its RTR only at this point so your stuck with crappy electronics you need to light on fire. But for 160 at the lhs, I can deal with cheap electronics.

Drew knows he is thinking about getting one himself after he saw Ron's at Zaks the other night. So far I have Drew and Jose definatly interested. Asfar as the scapel goes, its cool and all but its just so damned small. It requires one to spend lots o cash on very small electronics. Not to mention its just tiny, Im really trying to get away from the reeeal small stuff.

bummer...i'll wait and see the sportworks releases a "pro" verison (w/o electronics) or a kit version...

hate dealing with trying to sell the rtr stuff

I'd like to see on up close - they looked pretty good in the horizon hobbies catalogue

Talking

Im not really worried about RTR electronics and the added cost said electronics brings to this kit. Sportwerks will most likely put out a kit with all the "pro" upgrades bundled in, just like Losi did with the Mini-T. But by the time they release a "pro" kit, which might not be for awhile, itl end up costing as much if not more than the RTR. So I am buying now...not gonna twiddle my thumbs waiting on a kit, espcially when this is the only RC Im going to own for awhile lol.
Dont worry Kev, Ill let you know if its any good.

It runs very well on carpet with the stock gear and an ib 1400.I would not be suprised if they designed it for this application it runs so well out of the box.I say with a little more tunning you'll finally have a car smaller then 1/10th worth buying rather the another bastard child.
