yeah! I have an inside scoop on one. I hope to get it for x-mas or by mid January.
I am doing great finally! (r/c-wise) I have 2 mean ass Mugens and a mean ass Recoil. The guy who bought my HPI RS-4 is going to be in town tomorrow and we are going to race around in a huge parking lot (where my boys can stretch their legs ). I think my Recoil will whip the HPI. I am not sure but anxious to find out. I am still charging batteries tonight in preparation for a little fun tomorrow. Have you been kickin' butt in some racing this year?
Take care and be in touch!
No haven't been racing too much this year. What about you?
Sorry to ask this question as I'm sure it has been answered, but I really do not understand which one..
I just purchased a Recoil to play with, and the motor is a little slow and the servo is slow... What would you guys suguest as an upgrade?
For a direct fit with the optional mounts that come in the box, the Futaba 9602 will drop right in. You can tighten up the servo saver by using washers to compress the spring a bit more.
The motor isn't really slow but is probably going dead. The brushes are the problem. As others have mentioned, the Carisma 380 is a good alternative. A brushless in the long run will provide less maintainence but is a bigger outlay of cash upfront.

Me neither. Just parking lot racing for now. Not even the serious type. One of my nitro cars was clocked at 51mph in my street! That was just screwing around. My Recoil stayed with, if not beat a stock HPI RS 4. I felt good about that. Where abouts are you located? The weather is turning cold here. The good news is there will be 2 indoor tracks less than 30 minutes from me for winter racing.

I'm on the left coast. The weather is pretty mild but I have 2 indoor tracks to run at also when it rains.
Recoil Racing died around here. Too bad I'm not closer to the midwest where you guys are.

Noticed the comment on the slow servo, thought mine was slow also until I realized the servo saver was incorrectly installed (from factory) The saver was slipping making the servo feel slow, I did buy a hitec 81 and now it turns
on a dime and gives you nine cents change. Check the servo saver first....

Oh yeah! That would be great if you were closer! Right here close to me, there are virtually no other racers. Let alone Recoils. When the new track is done, I am sure I will see others. Ha, if anything, I will run into the guys who help develop it! I wonder why it died out by you. I think it is really a fun car. And I have not had some of the problems others are having. I guess I got lucky.
i live on the west side of georgia and out here the recoil is huge. we have a nice indoor track that we race on. i bought my recoil as soon as it hit the shelf here and i have had no problems. i have up scaled to the foam tires, mamba 25 8000k system, cefx chassis, full size steering servo, and ball diffs. i found that the spring in the stock servo saver was too soft so i used the one from a losi mini lst2. its stiffer and eliminates the slipping. the servo i used is a futuba coreless/metal gear. part #S9602. speed 0.09sec/60 torque 37.5 oz-in. it is a very fast servo for this little car making getting around the track on the inside a breeze.
