Does anyone know what the factory motor turn size is?? What about the XLR8??
Most of us at our track have taken the stock motor out and are running the stock motor for the Carisma in ours. Performs the same in terms of speed but just runs and runs without needing much maintenance.....and it's a cheap replacement....
Short test vid's I took today of a box stock recoil running at my local track. Cefx Raceway. I will get some more vid's tomorrow of the brushless cars running. I wasn't sure the car would show up on my digi camera or not. So this was just testing. Look for some better ones tomorrow.
this littel car is a blast if only it werent so fragile...
2 questions for you other users:
1. does anyone else have a problem with the front arm hingepins popping out of the blocks when you hit something?
2. for those who run the carisme 380 motor: does anyone else's motor seem to "lag", almost like it has a hung brush or something, before it hits into the power band?

Not sure how many runs you have on your motor......but I notice a big difference in punch after about 20 minutes of total run time. After about 4-6 5 minute races plus practice time.....
I remove the motor and blast it out with motor spray. I then use a bushing oil on it and re-install it. This brings back the punch and top speed.
If you have a lag, and are using the stock speed control you may also want to reset the speed control and double check all your wire connections.
i wouldnt think it is the speed controll, its an lrp quantam sport(1/10th scale) with 16 awg wires. it is (the motor)fairly new, maybe about 15 mins on it. the lag seems to feel like a hung brush if youve ever experienced that in 1/10th scale, its fine off the ground, but its lags the frist minute on the ground. it seems to go away during the race

Has anybody had problems with their shocks? I haven't even run my car yet and I decided to check the car out.I removed the shocks and noticed there was no rebound. As I took the shocks apart I noticed the shock shafts would "catch" as they went thru the shock bodies.
Are you pushing the shock shaft too far up? If the go past where the first thread (from the top) starts it'll catch on the o-rings. You should avoid this to not cut the o-rings. When the shock is fully assembled my shock shaft doesn't go that far in for it to catch.
The rebound is probably from the shock not being filled enough with oil. I would run some thicker oil 35-45 wt. There is a section in the manual to tells you what the correct rebound is pg14.
stock esc/receiver, magenta foams, ride height at 4mm, integy servo, Carisma motor, saucing all the rear tires, saucing just the inner 1/3rd of the fronts, CA glue on all edges of all tires, 50wt up front, 32wt rear, stock springs, 14 tooth Carisma pinion, stock 52 spur. 6 cell integy batteries...and recently am trying a Thunder Power LiPo 2cell, 2100mah battery.
Here is what I'm running in mine. Mamba 25 ESC, Wraith 7k, 2s 1250mah 7.4v lipo, stock pinion & spur gear, stock shocks and stock rubber. I can't find any foams at the LHS.
I love how it handles with the Wraith and Lipo, but going in to the corners when I let off the throttle it tends to barrell roll in to the boards. Even when I brake going into the corners it barrell rolls.
