Without the battery, mine weighed in at just over 23 oz. We weighed an 18R without battery, and that came in at just inder 17 oz.
I've attached a couple pics of my motor setup using the stock motor plate and the Vendetta 380 motor...the pinion looks huge, but this setup far outperforms the stock motor.
I've also attached a pic of my broken wheel...I think this is how most of them are breaking...
Running 10th scale carpet and using TakeOff 27's every now and then we see wheels doing that. I attribute it to manufacturing oddities. Not every wheel will be perfect.
I'm looking at your photos. those tires don't look like stock rubbber. they look like foams.
They're definitely not stock rubber!
With the rubber tires, I was getting my arse handed to me by the 18T's in my mini class that are running foams, so I had no choice but to rip the stock rubber tires off the rims, grind down the beads with my dremel, and mount up some 12th scale foams on the stock rims. The 12th scale donuts fit like a glove (you can make 4 Recoil foams out of two 12th scale rear donuts), and the car is MUCH better on the track...better as in going from 29-30 laps to 33-34 laps on the same layout.
I'm running greens all the way around, because that's all I could find locally, but it's absolutely hooked up on the rug. I trued them down to 42mm on the track's tire lathe using a 4mm screw run thru the wheel and threaded into the 10th scale arbor. Works like a charm.
I still don't see how poor quality after market parts from some other company can reflect badly on the Recoil.
GPM has been making junk parts for a variety of small scale cars with NO adverse reaction on the cars they were intended for.
On the contrary, I think a wide variety of parts from various manufacturers can only improve sales of the Recoil.
All that stuff sure didn't hurt sales of the Tmaxx!
I wouldn't mind seeing some goodies from Atomic, Dynamite and others.

I would have to agree with duneland. If there were more aftermarket parts for the Recoil, I think the class would take off........

Duneland I agree with you as well....
I happen to understand where who me is coming from. We all get frustrated when we waste a few bucks on inferior parts....I am looking forward to getting 2 recoils myself....I learned from these forums when you are the front runner with the new stuff you seem to spend the most money.....
I talked to my LHS and told him of the wheel issue. He to pointed out not every part can be perfect. He also noted the cost of the replacements ($8 a pair) which pretty much makes the wheel failure no biggie @ $4 a piece.
My stock servo went out tonight. It started to feel sluggish then just stopped working. I pulled it out and took the horn off and the shaft was locked up. It wouldn't budge.
We were racing tonight at Duneland Hobbies in Portage Indiana. Ron had good mini servos in stock.
I'm replacing it with the Integy metal gear Mini Servo 30x13x26mm 6.0V/0.14s/69oz-in.
It won't fit using the stock hardware that comes off the broken servo, but I figured I'd just shoegoo it in or just use servo tape.
Has anyone replaced the bushings in the front knuckles?
I put in the optional bearing set right out of the box. I have found that waiting until the stock bushings go bad just wears out other parts prematurely as well.
