Yes, we could use the foams... Hopefully we will have them next week, as per the eta.
On the subject of foams.. Does anyone know if the foams to fit the MINI RS4 are still available? I have not been able to find them anywhere. There was a mini Roadrunner express pro too. I have some foams for it, but they are quite old. The reason I bring it up is, the size (with some truing) is right for the Recoil. They use a standard tc hex. An adapter could be made to run them on the Recoil.
I am hoping the foams for the recoil will be on a somewhat stronger rim than the ones in the kit. They are not too bad, but some more strength would be nice. Have had one or two centers pull out, and that's just on mine. Have seen a few wheels break. I will start reinforcing mine...

Are you planning to run brushed/LiPo? If not, pretty much ALL brushless escs have adjustable cut-off.
Robitronics makes a brushed esc with voltage cut-off for LiPo use.
If you are going to race, check with the track for rules...
At my place, stock recoil will require 6cell NiMh. Of course, LiPo would still be usefull for practice.

Duneland how are you going to reinforce the rims? If you got an idea of what to do can you describe it or take a pic for us?

This weakness found in the wheels could've been avoided if Carisma used a hub axle with a hex like a 1/10th scale touring car. Hopefully an aftermarket company will pick up on this mistake and make a conversion kit for it.

I am going to lay-up a patch of epoxy/fiberglass in the recess where the nut goes. That center section is the part that breaks. Will have to re-drill the hole when it is set-up.
I am hoping the rims for the foam tires will be a bit stronger, and make the mod unnecessary.

I only saw one wheel break and that was after alot of hard hits. But I hope Sportwerks comes out with any mods or fixes for this. Keeping the hop-ups coming from the manufacurer is the best for keeping the class alive. Once you get GPM, and all the other HK hop-up makers involved things tend to go down hill quick.

If I'm not crashin' I'm not playing hard enough! Mine just cracked after a good powerslide into a wall, 25% part failure/75% driver error...... That sounds like a good way to patch one Duneland but you think that'll last long since the stress is on the inside part of that peg thang. I'm just buyin' a new set and watch for an after market fix.

The 'peg thang' seems to be holding up, all the ones I have looked at (that were broken) had the area under the nut broken. The re-inforcement I suggested, should help. Don't know how much it will help though.

his point is....cheaper companies will make 2nd rate hop ups which will turn off people who buy them causing a recoil.....on the recoil....
