I can imagine me racing with Nexus. We're neck and neck with 10 seconds left. Coming out of the front sweeper I just stop on the rug. He wrecks, I go ahead along to take the main!
Man it's on DONKEY KONG! :P

Kev let me know when you can head up there. I'll bring the Xmods. Jimmy, Howard and I are all planning to try and hit the place the same day. Between possibly borrowing Kenji's stuff, Jimmy's M18's, and Lo's Xmods and mini-z's we should have plenty to go around
Yeah now all we need to do is get Rob King to come out with his x-mods and Mini-z's and it will really be on.
I will let you know when I can make it out there....it doesnt look good this week maybe tuesday next week.

Kevin, I have a red 360 body in stock and it fits perfectly on the Recoil. Don't think you can get clear Carisma bodies, but could be wrong.
REeeaallllyyyyy.....So the wheel base and everything lines up? Are the Carisma bodies lexan or are they harder plastic? Hmmm.....now you really got the wheels turing.....

They are heavy-duty lexan, pre-painted with removable mirrors. Whealbase and track width are right on.
Awesome....thanks!

It looks like the red 360 body has the exact dimensions as the recoil, do you know of any other carisma bodies that fit the recoil, mainly the wrx 2003 wrc body.
I got my Recoil today. I also ordered the bearings fo the steering, CVD's, Aluminum Shocks and Mazda 6 body. I just wish there was a local indoor track where I could run it.

You suck...
You know that I am going to wind up getting one now...thanks alot!
man, i wish everybody in this thread was closer to me so we could start something with these things. i took mine to hobbytown looking for some parts, and they hadn't even heard of the cars yet. i may have to venture out a little further to see if the other shops got anything in.
you guys using the carisma rear tires, are you putting those on the recoils stock rims or do the carisma rims also fit?
Dune....Two Recoils' motors went bad today at Strictly.
Anything we can do as a simple fix to the stock motors?
Cooper, took one out, sprayed it with motor spray, oiled it, put the brushes and springs back in. But the thing seems dead. I'm wondering if replacing the brushes would do the trick?
Made some foams for my Recoil using the stock rims and 12th scale foams. It's unbelievable just how much better the car handles with foams...I went from almost 31 laps last week, to 34 laps this week. The HS-81 servo also helped, but the 2-3 hours it took me to mount the foams was well worth it. Won the Mini class a-main by two laps today. Car felt outstanding!!
I trued my foams down to 42mm, so I geared up to a 14 tooth pinion to gain back some speed. Car ran great, but the stock motor was hitting 195 degrees after a 5 minute heat. Too hot if you ask me...seems like the stock motor just runs hot no matter the gearing?
Kenji,
Ron and I both ran 380 size motors (physically larger than the stock 370) last night that are designed for the $99 dollar carsima spec car. You can fit the motor to the stock motor plate using an inexpensive adapter made by e-flight, and also doing some minimal dremel work to the chassis. The motor is not any faster than a good 370, but it does not have to work so hard. I was running a 14 tooth pinion and ron ran a 13, both still got hot after a 8 minute main but the performance stayed good throughout the whole 8 minutes. It is still to early to tell how long the motor will last, but I am sure that it will far outlast the stock one. Give ron a call for the part numbers of the motor and adapter, he opens at 11:30 during the week. We have also done some other small mods to the car to improve lap times, if you are interested just ask ron or myself anytime. Looking forward to racing with you guys soon, have a good day!
