They didn't come with them, the poeple modified the cars.... check out atomicmods.com he's very expensive but it will give you an idea what he can do. Talk to the guys to see where they are getting their stuff, usually there's a few who will share their info and maybe even solder for you if you don't have the ability yourself...

Baxter:

Most MINI Z sanctioned racetracks have stock class and mod class. Stock class consists of the stock FET board as if from the factory and any of the kyosho, pn, atomic, etc stock motors. Mod class is usually any motor with any amount of fets. Hope this helps a little.

I dont have the actual FET number but the newer stock mini z s now come with a hotter FET than previous versions. I know I have 2 of them. I got the new release Porsches. I was told my new chassis is currently illegal for stock racing with older stock mini z s. go figure....

yes, the newer body style mini Z's come with the 3010 FET's, the older ones i believe have either 3002 or 3003 FET's. we race in daytona here and another track just opened up, but you can really tell the difference between the 2 FET's, it looks like the newer cars have a mod motor in it, the new FET's have something like twice the power over the old ones.

hope this helps

$35.00 for a 2x2 is really not that expensive, and it really is all you need. If you choose to do it yourself, it is only like 12 bucks for 4 fets also, believe me the money is well worth it. BTW, ammdrew, the last board you guys sent should be on the way back, all I needed to do was adjust the screw on the servo pot on the mainboard. It did take me a loooong time to figure that one out. Nice to see you guys are geting a good thing going up there for the winter.

BTW, here's a picture of my car. ANd some from the rear end that I am running on my AWD modified car (not mine though, don't have any more pics at home). MiniZ's have come a loooong way...

As of now I havent raced them. I was going to go to a PN racing event but I found out my cars were illegal.... I did find an awesome track I practiced at up in NY state near the Woodbury Commons Mall. The track is tabletop height....they use house drain pipe as borders...doesnt beat up the cars... It is called TT Motorsports. The owner used to own the Poughkeepsie Onroad RC track.
Will Willis have a mini z class?
