yes, I have tested 1/12th scale shocks. they do work if you cut the shock shaft or move the the antenna holder foward.

Ok ppl. I just purchased my Scalpel, almost finished building it. I'm running a Tekin Mini Redline 5500 motor on a 50X25 track. Any gearing suggestions. Also, any idea what compound the stock tires are?

A good gear range for that size track would be a 47spur and eighter a 14 or 15 pinion.....the tire that come with the scalpel are hard fronts and soft rears...i would say compond numbers are 45front 30rear.....

Well well well. First time out with the Scalpel. First round was good. Second round...not so much. Broke the T bar, chassis, T bar brace, and damper post. Had to buy a whole new kit. Not very happy with the durability, needless to say. Top it off with the fact all the breakables are on back order at my LHS until the end of FEBRUARY. I was left with no other recourse than to buy a new kit. Hopefully someone from Robitronics reads this. I do plan on contacting them in regards to this situation I ended up in.
On a positive note. These little buggers are effin' quick! I was running a Tekin Mini Redline 5500 and could not get near full throttle. Hopefully next week will go better with the new car.

I just got a Scalpel by way of trade and love it lots of fun to drive.
I put the Tekin Mini Rage and Mini Rage 5500 Motor in it and man is it fast.
I run with Sprague and he had issues with both of his cars that night. Anyway I love it just have to work on some setup it gets a little loose in the corners.
Sprague, you can have your LHS call me. We have pretty much all of the Robitronic parts in stock. SK Motion is the importer of Robitronic, so even the bigger distributors are getting the parts from us. Our phone number is 949-705-6668. Tell ur LHS there are no minimum orders and signing up will take less than 5 minutes. Once they are a dealer, you can get parts instantly.
Bigb11 also offers some nice hop-ups.
