I wish I could apply but there isn't enough 1/18 racing around here to be worthwhile... and at the moment its mainly on asphalt when I do

One Great Big "I'M SORRY" goes out to all you scalpel lovers....I had a great car this year in stock class and a good car in the mod class but I took myself out of contention by tapping the boards way to much and loosing confidence in my driving ability at the Micro Nationals this year.....Came home with a very disappointing 2nd place in stock pan car and a even more disappointing 4th place in mod pan car.....Until next year.....

Hey guys, i have difficult finding how to suppress bump-steer on my scalpel. It makes the steering so ridiculously twitchy...

What angle/steering link positions do you use to avoid this???

try spacers under the pivot balls 1-3 mm

good piece of advice; thanks

I already did it, helped a little, I even tried to put the R steering arm to the left and vice versa + add spacers, but still the bump steer is very present... But it is the "less worse" solution I found so far. How do you guys do to drive with such a caricatural angle in your linkages? It's very strange because, if I do the same my car is impossible to drive, it just wants to "add steering" at every corner.

( BTW the rest of my setup is supposed to give me the nicest front end, almost no tire additive, a lot of additive for a long time on the rear tires, low D/R, long wheelbase, etc...)

Default Bumpsteer

The bumpsteer is inherent in the basic fron suspension design. A completely different front end is required to really eliminate the bump steer.
