I'm thinking of upgrading to a 6 cell chassis. For you guys who have made the switch to 6 cells what do you race against? Where I race there are only a couple of Scalpels and I can't recall the last time there was a Scalpel class. I'd like to race this puppy again and think the 6 cell would allow me to race with the M18s especially if I drop a sedan body on it.
Anyone have some Pro's and Cons to using a LiPO or NiMH? All I have used in my Mini is NiMH. The NiMH are ok, but loose life and going up in capacity adds weight.
The Life Cells that cells that I have used in my oval car have good rip and about 5-cell speeds. Races over 5-min may be hard making run time.
Then there is LiPO, I've heard they lack the punch/rip but have good speeds on longer straights.

Trailranger,
I like to run the Thunder Power 2 cell 1320 20c 7.4v battery. Compaired to NIMH they are smaller aprox. 13mm x 38mm x 64mm and weight less. And they don't lack punch. Because they are smaller and weight less, you can put the lipo on one side of your Scalpel and the electronics on the other side. You will not have run time or speed issues. I'm also designing a new chassis for the Scalpel to make your setups much more user friendly.....stay tuned to this thread. I will have pics in the very near future of my new ride. Once testing is completed and I am satisfied with it's performance, they will be available on line. I have soooooooooooo many projects going right now that it's hard to get everything completed as I origionally planned. I'm really hoping that Robitronics will sell all there advertised optional hop-ups here in the US. I know all of us Scalpel owners are anxiously waiting for that to happen. Later
