Looks fantastic! I'll be calling my LHS to have them order one tomorrow!

Now if Parma would just make tires for the thing. Something on a fluorescent chartreuse spoked rim would be great.

Default Swedish Nats

The Swedish Nats were held this weekend.
Both 4WD and 2WD ran in the same class. Unfortunately the grip was a bit to low to suit the Scalpel so I'm satisfied with my third place.
Winner was a Xray m18 Pro and second the new LRP Shark.

We tried all kind of set ups to cope with the dusty low grip conditions at the Nats. 4 cell short chassis, European 6 cell chassis (a bit stiffer/thicker carbon compared to the one produced by bigb11).
I finally ended up with bigb11-chassis, 5 cells & Lrp Fusion brushed motor - it was not as fast as the lipo&brushless on the straight but I must say that it handled like a dream (until I broke the T-bar ).

What would be a good brushless system to put in a 4 cell Scalpel? I have zero interest in Mamba, so I'm looking for anything else. Also, a recommendation on the kv rating?

What about Lipo saddle packs. Anyone tried that yet?

Thanks guys

Sorry to hear you do not like the Castle products...May I ask Why?

I run a Castle Micro Pro in my 4 cell scalpel on one side and a MaxAmps 860 2s lipo on the motor side.......With a Castle 6800kv SideWinder motor......The 5400kv is fast also but I use this setup at short tracks........

I like Castle, just not Mamba. I fly Castle escs in my planes all the time.

Mambas are green (nasty ass color), plus the 25 is the coggiest, roughest thing I've ever come across. Granted, it's the only thing I've ever used in the small brushless car field, but I was amazingly disappointed with its performance... I'm going to try it with the new software, but I need a new motor to go with it first, and don't want a green motor. If castle makes me a red one, or a blue one, I'll buy it.

HVAC25000.......I have been running the 8K Mamba in my M18Pro all year and have been very happy with it. No problem with power through the entire range. There data link is cool too, because you can custom tune it to your driving needs. The color green for me isn't an issue, because I am going so fast that you can't even tell what color it is. You could throw a heat sink on it to cover up the color, but it really isn't needed because they don't really don't get hot at all. I am a very happy customer and will use mambas in all of my mod cars.

And when Mamba makes them in a color that doesn't look like sick dog ****, I'll get one. Until then, I'd rather have some slightly less ugly purple or yellow thing.

I covered my green with carbon fiber look vinyl sticker- looks pretty dialed

Novak capacitor and thicker motor wires and my cogging is gone although it has a very slight delay at the starting line with my 18R.
The 25 requires a strong battery to run smooth.

Great idea with the sticker, Mike. I hadn't thought of that. I keep forgetting that stuff exists, even though Ray's covered everything except his face with it. It seems to take heat well, too.

That's the problem I had with the Mamba. All my batteries were too cheap. I think it may be even worse with only 4 cells? I think my only option with it is Lipo. I'll add the thicker wires, and I've got a cap left from my Sphere so I'll add that too. Thanks for the tips, Mike.
