Thanks for the advice... I finally got to run it again and yes I definitely had the diff far too tight... but the CA around the front tires had the most affect... just need to get the right amount on there

Great..... now you can fine tune your ride even more if you want with some of the ideas I gave you in post's # 589 & 593. Glad to hear you're heading in the right direction. Aren't these little 18th scale cars a lot of fun, especially when they handle real well?

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY CAP TIRES AVAILABLE FOR THIS CAR YET ?

I HAVE WANTED TO BUY ONE SINCE THEY CAME OUT LAST YEAR BUT HAVE WAITED TO SEE IF RUBBER CAP TIRES WOULD BE OUT OUT BY SOMEONE.

I RUN CONCRETE OVAL AND THINK THAT THIS WOULD BE A GREAT CAR TO RUN ON THAT TRACK. TROUBLE IS, THE FOAM TIRES WOULDN'T LAST ANYTIME AT ALL.

I HAVE OFTEN WONDERED IF THE MICRO RS4 TOURING TIRES WOULD MOUNT ON SCALPEL WHEELS.

ANYONE HAVE IDEAS ABOUT WHAT I COULD TRY IF I BOUGHT A KIT FOR CONCRETE RACING ?

The hpi micro rs4 tires will fit nice over the front tires, rears work but they dont cover the whole tire.

Yeah its awesome fun... I am finding I enjoy it more than my 1/10 touring car... just can't race it as often

Just as an aside... does anyone make foam donughts or other tires for them?

As far as I know, nobody makes donuts for the Scalpel wheels or other tires yet. Your LHS is the only place you can purchase black wheeled mounted foam (by Robitronic). According to Robitronics advertisements in there "hop-ups" line, they are suppose to have white wheeled mounted foam. But the LHS's in my area said they are still not available yet. Maybe another aftermarket company will offer them for us Scalpel owners. If you check www.exotekracing.com, they carry some Scalpel products....tire truing arbors, titanium rear axles, black FRP t-plates, foam bumper, and a 6 cell chassis converson kit (150mm wheel base). Check out there web site, it's pretty cool. I bought there Tit. axle and I really like it (less weight). Mike is there contact guy. Parma is suppose to have a new body available soon for the Scalpel too. Check some earlier posts in this thread on there Scalpel body. It looks pretty cool too!

Alright guys....here are a few little secrets of mine.....

(1) For the donut tire question, Yes there is a company over in Germany that I deal with and was using his donuts at the 1/18 Touring Car Nats and they worked extremely well...Just needed a body to keep the car on the ground and the scalpel would have won both events there....The Company in question is InZaneracing.com.....The donuts are very hard to get on the rims and well worth the effort....once set they are much better in compound and concistancy....More internal rubber for a better exotic tire and last five times longer then the stock tire....Three different compounds to chose from....
I have tested some of the Robitronic Scalpel tires that are coming out with longer lasting compounds and more rubber additives and they work just as well but do not know how long that will take place....Yes Robitronics has White rims but they are only available in Germany....not available in the stats yet.

(2) Parma and I have been working on several things and the New Mini Speed 8 is one of them and will be available shortly once all the final details are done...This body will not only look great, it will give you tones of down force on the straight away for improved controlled speed, improve consistent faster lap times and cornering speed...A must have body....check out my painted body at Parmapse.com under News...
You can also see it in Xtreme RC Cars magazine on page 146 of the April 2008 issue.....(unfortunatly with miss print)
