Default New Scalpel bodies

(3) tighten the dampening disks attached to the upper rear pod "dry"
(4) put a small amount of heavy dampening lube between the dampening disks
(5) with any of these combinations, try medium front tires
(6) play with the ride height
(7) approach corners wider (larger radius)

Let me know which one of these ideas work. I have a scalpel too and would be interested to hear which idea works best for you.

I am also in the middle of making a cool looking new lexan body for the current 4 cell Scalpel chassis and the new 6 cell Scalpel chassis. The body styles will look a lot like the current 1/8th scale size Audi LMP's, (open cockpit style). I may also include headlight decals with the body. I'm trying to have both of these body's ready by late October time frame. Haven't decided on prices yet. I'm doing this for the fun of the hobby and to support the hobby and for those who like to have something different.

Hey I just bought a Scalpel and so far it is awesome but I was wondering if there are any upgrades that are a must have or are there any commonly broken parts. Or any simple tricks you guys may know.

Thanks in advance

No...byron.s, which, by the way, is an excellent job created by "Homer's lids" for the X-ray M18 car. Check out his other fine "lids" on one18th.com. Homer does an amazing job with just about any body style that will tickle your fancy. Check them out!! You won't be disapointed. I have his Mini Cooper for my Xray M18. The version I will be creating is for the Scalpel chassis and because I don't have to deal with clearing the front diff case and upper front suspension arms, I will be able to achieve more body defination, especially in the front...... to make it look more like the real Audi LMP has and also like the 1/8th scale Gas cars my Son and I race. The rear of the body will have a molded in rear wing just like an 1/8th scale Gas body. I also have body plans for the Xray M18 as well. But not until I complete the 4 and 6 cell Scalpel version LMP's first. I'll post some pics of the bodies as I finish them and look forward to your thoughts and comments.

byron.s; I'll try to get it done as soon as I can..........I'm anxious to get it completed myself....painted up and mounted. I'm also interested to see if it makes a difference in the handleing dept., especially with a fast motor/esc combo.

bigb11; they should look somewhat similar in the styling to the p-35 and 12-speed but definately have an Audi LMP look.....that's what I'm shooting for and I'm sure all the Scalpel owners out there would agree with the "Audi LMP" look. Something more realistic in styling to the real car.

Mike,
You need to come out with some COOL Scalpel parts. At this rate we will NEVEr see them from Robotronic. A 6-cell chassis should be first on the list!!! Then some parts to get rid of the front end slop!

Our 2mm 6 cell chassis, 2mm stock replacement chassis and fiberglass T-bars have been available since March. How's that for COOL? Both chassis' are available in silver or standard plain weave carbon fiber.

I have a nice titanium axle in production and testing some other go fast rear end parts Little afraid to jump in with a chassis because so many folks already are coming in with those and also I'm a little wary about the size of the Scalpel community. I'll see how the few hop ups I'm coming out with does and gauge interest from there.
