I'm guessing no one has run a scalpel on an asphalt track?

Have not seen any mention of how the car handles on asphalt?

Don't you think Scalpel tyre is too thin for asphalt ?
a dude in my local track said that the tyre of his scalpel wear out so fast on carpet already, not to mention asphalt

Here here! I think it's MARGINALLY too thin for carpet. I'd like to see the tires with at least half again more thickness of rubber. Better yet, double thickness and I can true 'em how I want 'em.

I was thinking about capping the tires for asphalt. What about capping them with Micro RS4 tires for the fronts? You'd still need to find a cap for the back, though...

I just brought a Scalpel and this is my first venture into micro rc. I have never run brushless before and I was looking at putting a brushless system in it however I don't know which one to get. I don't want to set any land speed records but I don't want something that is slow either.
From reviews I have read, the Quark 33 pro car ESC seems to rate highly as does the Hacker E30 13L motor. Has anyone tried this combo and how does it compare to the Mamba and Tekin versions.
I will be running the standard 4 cell configuration. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm using a Mamba as well w/ the 6800 motor. Pretty smooth response so far. Will only cog when the battery starts to dump. The Mamba motors will fit the stock motor mount as well

After further review..... the old version of the Mamba bl fits fine but the NEWER versions do not! I have both and it seems the newer mambas has revised motor screw locations and because of this it definitely does not fit in the stock scalpel motor mount locations Sorry BJL

I emailed them last week asking the same question, no reply yet. If they do reply, I'll be sure to post it.

I just got mine in today and WILL be racing her on asphalt. Our tracks are cleaned from debris..washed down and sugar water...the works. I am hoping the tires can handle. But we have a class starting and well see how she goes. I'll give you all the 411 after the race..
