oh and about the brushless speed control. i have a mamba, all i did was put the capacitor on the top instead of on the side, which gave it enough room to fit it in perfectly
Please note that you must use the recommended servo from hitec. The ko propo and airtronics will not fit and you can no get a servo saver to work. I even fab a servo saver and the servo is not centered with stock drill holes.
Also note it is nearly impossible to fit tekin mini rage without removing it from the case.
The car was setup for standard micro brushed electronics.
The kit includes SEVERAL servo hornes. One, I believe, is for Futaba so the Hitec is not the only option. It is kinda a bummer that the Ko servo won't fit, but really now, to sell it because of that! As for the Mini Rage, it is HUGE to begin with. I have seen people take it out of the case to use it in an 18T just to save room.
Mine should arrive today & two of my friends got theres yesterday. I will probably install my Quantum LRP until Tekin releases there B1. Also we ordered the Futaba servos which the dimensions are close to the Hitec. I do have a Hitec in case the Futaba does not fit.
Any more info on how the car handles. Plus video or more pics. We will probably video ours and have a link to view it. Getting excited so I played hooky from work so I could get it put together asap. ( actually i'm the boss so it's not hooky )
Soooooooo, anyone put a sub-micro servo in? I notice that the front end has two sets of servo mounting holes. I want to get one of those Futaba sub-micro digitals, like the S3154.

I use the KO micro in mine. It works fine. Another of my local racers put the Airtronics 94091Z in his--Also works fine. Another put a Futaba 3101 in his--also works fine. Chassis is set-up to accept servos that fit the M18 chassis AND the ones that fit RC18t/b chassis. I am running a 2 cell 1320 LiPo, Quark esc, Spektrum micro rx and Electrifly outrunner bl motor. Everything mounts flat on chassis.
The servo horn included will not fit on micro servo of any type..ie such as ko as the knurled output shaft is much smaller...what servo horn did you use.
The hitec servo fit standard servo horns and that is what is supplied.
I made on for the car by drilling thru horn and super glue an insert from included (white) servo horn from the ko servo.
The ko servo is also offset and it appear that radio travel will be limited on on side as it hits the servo mount.
I had some single cell 1500's on hand but they were a bit too large to suit me. I put a 2 cell 1320 on one side & the rest went on the other. Lead had to be added on the side with electronics. I will eventually go to a saddle pack arrangement.
I used a Sportwerks Chaos servo saver, with a piece of a servo wheel attached (for attachment of the tierods).
I wouldn't run the car without a servo saver. The omision of a saver is deffinately a minus.
I had to remove a small amount of plastic from the top of one of the servo mounts...no big deal.
Horns are supplied for 3 different kinds of servos. Including Futaba, Sanwa/Airtronics,JR and HiTec.
None were small enough for the micro KO, but I wouldn't use the horn anyway.
The lack of a proper servo-saver, is a minor inconvenience. One that is shared by the original Xray M18.
Electronics mounting will have so little room to place electronics u will need a micro receiver and a micro esc. For those of you who run the Mamba there is a tip on here to relocate the cap on top instead of where it sits on the end and also you do not need to buy the optional motor mount plate for the motor just a couple 2.5mm screws at the right length with spacers. I used a couple 2.5x10 hex head screws cutting one down 2mm and adding (2) 2.5mm spacers and it fits right in.
My current config is
The Mamba Comp X
Futaba S3101 Micro Servo
1500 Elite Cells
Spektrum Micro Receiver
