18t.. both quality and handling are superior unless you plan on going over things meant for 1/10 scale cars. Then the mini LST might be what you want. I just feel they can't handle much abuse... IMO of course. The mini LST is almost 1/10 scale anyways.. lol

The M-LST is no where near the size of a 1/10th scale.
okay.. make it 1/12 scale.. so, it IS near the size of a 1/10.. it makes the mini-t and 18t look like.. well, minis.. get whatever you want.. I could care less. I just know where I race them in the winter, nothing can even stay on the same lap as the 18t.. actually.. the others are usually behind by more than 2 laps. But, hey.. do whatever you want.. I'm just saying.. if you get the Mini LST you may as well get a 1/10.
MLST is 18th scale. Its a MONSTER TRUCK.the 18t is a stadium truck, hence it's smaller.Get the facts correct. And no the 18t is not the fastest 18th scale out.The mini-t can be equally fast and so can some others.Parts availability is very good for the 18t though. You may want to consider the Xray m18t or the Vendetta also.I own one of all these cars and I would say out of the box for "racing"not just bashing, the vendetta and 18t are the best straight out of the package.
Whatever... I can't believe how uptight 18th scale guys are. Come to our track and see how fast a mini-t can go... some guys have tons of time and money in their mini-t's and a stock 18t is still extremely fast by comparison. On jumps, through corners.. everything. All the LST's do is break. So, my experience was all I was sharing. But, since you guys like to 'sound' intelligent and I was just making obvious points about the size of the LST then I'll leave you to your BS and say that you can come to my track any time this winter and see if you can hang.
Chill man, everyone is just stating their opinions. Although some opinions are clearly biased just because they own the car, it doesn't mean the RC18 is for everyone. Some people like running Mini-Ts or Mini-LSTs because the drivetrain suits their driving style, or other miscellaneous reasons. For racing, I do agree the RC18 will be the easiest to drive fast without needing a monstrous amount of modifications to do so. The Vendettas can be fast, but I found the knuckles and the axle shafts to be too fragile.

I do agree about the Vendetta. It can be an extremely good competitor with little work. It just needs some good batts and motor along with some upgraded knuckles and a good setup. Very smooth car. No one at our track has actually spent much time with it though. I've only seen it perform stock. It's a very capable car though... smooth as butter. I'd like to see it on an outdoor track due to how it handles our indoor whoops section. My 18t doesn't like the rough stuff a whole lot.
BTW.. I have driven most of the minis made. I have no biased opinion. I just race what works. So, far the 18t is dominant. But, like I said, if you are into running larger things over. Get the LST.. or maybe the kyosho truggy.. that thing is pretty sweet.
I still invite you all to come to my track. We don't mess around. We have some pro 1/8 buggy drivers running here... and some pro touring car drivers as well. The track is large and perhaps the nicest carpet track in the country and we add jumps, wall rides, and whoops all over the track for mini. Very fast and competitive. Fun as heck!
Is a Mini even worth bashing?...That rules out the MLST.
Are you skilled enough to drive a 2wd? Are you going to run against 18t/b/mt?...that takes care of the Mini-T.
You ever consider the H8 or the Xray M18T? I went with the H8 due to parts support and many mods out on the internet, but the quality of Xray is top notch.
Check out what I did with my H8 in the thread below. Scroll down for a speed run video.
Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers warpig. Just stating facts. You run in one type of enviorment that leads the rc18t to really shine.CARPET. Thats fine as your right. The rc18t is really good on high bite. That being said, you have to take into account much more then your experience. Will he be running offroad on real dirt? So forth and so on etc etc etc.I really don't care who runs at your track. That gives you no credability in my opinion.I could come out there and race with the best of them. Not a problem at all.....but does that help him in his decision?I could say,hey we{we meaning us here in California} have MOST of the best racers in the country{offroad and onroad of ANY scale} and I race with them all, most of the time, but that doesn't really answer his question, now does it?
Reread your posts.Maybe you could have been a little less sarcastic and a little more helpful by how you come across.
Mini LSt hands down. No question. Tough as nails, fast as hell and just all around awesome. Mini-t's need to many upgrades to become tough and fast. The Rc18t is a pretty nice setup too. But the Mini Lst owns.
RC18T all the way. This was my first RC car and I bashed and raced it hard! The only thing I have upgraded on my since is the battery, dogbones, and the servo saver (a must). I ran it without those things for a couple months and it still ran great, those are just the things I would reccomend on getting. Also the motor it comes with I have never replaced and I would run with Mini-T's with Reedy Mini Mods.
Why on earth would you race mini if you live in Cali??? oh well, off topic again.. I still say come here and race.. We've raced all the pros you seem proud of as well.
